Just saw where MISD approved an $800,000 renovation of the pressbox at Maverick Stadium.

LONG overdue.

But it's only scratching the surface of what needs to be done.  $5.5M in renovations was proposed in the first bond election.  So I guess they are going to do it a little at a time.

I know the PB needs work....but IMHO I would have started with the concessions and restrooms.  BUT...that would have been wayyyy more than 800K.

New lighting, concessions, restrooms, ticket booths, fencing, stadium seating.... all needs to be addressed.

Also announced was 6.3 Million in renovations at MHS.

With all the brand new schools open K-8......  MHS is now the focus.  About 30M in work was proposed in 2015.  Just going to have to do it a little at a time.

Glad to see it all getting started.   More good news.

Maybe they can get rid of the wasp nests in the press box   I swear, I was attacked every time I had to go up there

I haven't been to Mav Stadium since 2015, but I will never forget those concessions and restrooms on the visiting side.

By far, the worst concessions I have ever been to (not to mention the longest). I'd even consider Abe better at this point.

But glad y'all are getting some work done on the stadium.

I don't think those have been improved.  The ones on the home side weren't much better...

That makes three straight 6th/7th inning collapses for Marshall in district play.

They lead in every single one of them and fell apart in the final at bats.

Very frustrating.

Could easily be 3-0.  Sit at 0-3.

Gotta catch a break eventually.

That's a tough way to start District! Y'all will be in ball games when the kid who pitched tonight pitches. He was very good tonight and deserved to get the W. He went the distance and didn't allow a hit until the 6th and I believe only allowed 3 hits total. Defense behind him let him down.

Another late game collapse for Marshall.

They lead Hallsville 1-0 after 4.5.

Bobcats tied it 1-1 in th bottom of the 5th.

Hallsville got 3 in the sixth to seal it 4-1.

Every district loss has been a late game collapse.  That’s a tough pill to swallow.

Looked like Hallsville finally figured out Marshall's pitcher.A costly error  by the pitcher on a pick off play opened the door for Hallsville. The Lady Mavs also got hammered  by the Hallsville Ladycats 11-2.
