So after week 1-

Corsicana 1-0 shutout Red Oak 41-0

Whitehouse 1-0 beat Hallsville 27-10

Jacksonville 1-0 beat Pine Tree

Ennis 0-1 lost to SOC 29-28

Lindale 0-1 lost to Kaufman 19-14

Nacogdoches 0-1 lost to Kilgore 35-21

This week

Lindale vs Forney

Nac @ Lufkin

Cana @ Tyler Lee

Jacksonville @ Palestine

Ennis @ John Tyler

Whitehouse @ Tyler Chapel Hill

How is every feeling after week 1.... Nac's season didn't start off well, but we are young and inexperienced. Maybe we will be opposite of last year, when started fast before losing our last 4. Nondistrict is brutal and hopefully it provides valuable experience for a run to the 4 spot:) just glad football season is here!!!

Talking to a few a people that were at the game, whitehouse was very vanilla on offense. Defense was very good, they weren't sure if it was lack of speed from hallsville or just good whitehouse defense.

Whitehouse had a chance at the end of the half from the half yard line on an untimed down due to PI in the end zone. They elected to kick a FG, the decision didn't sit well with the fans. Whitehosue was set to receive the ball in the second half, so fans didn't like the conservative call. I was told the RB for whitehouse is pretty good and Dillon Cantrell brother is pretty good, but QB wasn't sharp.

Just relaying what I was told, if any whitehouse fans would like to correct this be my guest.

Whitehouse was pretty vanilla on offense. Ran the ball pretty well and completed a lot of short passes. Didn't throw the ball down the field much. QB was 21 out of 31 for around 200 yds and RB # 8 looked good. He had several good, long runs. Defense looked very good to me. Hallsville did very little on offense all night.

Ennis had a tight game with JT. Closer than most expected I think.

I wasn't surprised to sew Lee beat Corsicana, but thought it would be closer.

Jacksonville losing to Palestine was a little surprising.

The other 3 were pretty much what I expected.

My new prediction as of now:

1.Ennis

2.Corsicana

3. Whitehouse

4.Lindale

5. Nac

6. Jacksonville

I was surprised the Ennis-JT game was that close. this will help Ennis in the long run.

As a Tiger fan, I wasn't surprised we lost to Lee. I was hoping it would be more competitive. Doesn't get any easier for us...got Lancaster this week.

IMO, Whitehouse will get their first test this week vs. Carthage.

I don't know much about Nac, but I wouldnt count them out just yet.

As for Lindale and Jax, don't have a clue how good they are.

Week 3 is in the books and we have No undefeated teams in district, but 2 teams are winless.

Whitehouse 2-1-Beating Hallsville, Chapel Hill and losing to Carthage

Jacksonville 2-1-Beating Hallsville and Pine Tree and losing to Palestine

Corsicana 1-2-Beating Red Oak and losing to Tyler Lee and Lancaster

Lindale 1-2-Beating Forney and losing to Kaufman and Van

Ennis 0-3-Losing to South Oak Cliff, John Tyler and Waxahachie

Nacogdoches 0-3-Losing to Kilgore, Lufkin and Tyler Lee

Week 4 Schedule-The entire district is at home this week.

Corsicana hosts Marshall

Ennis hosts Dallas Kimball

Jacksonville hosts Mount Pleasant

Lindale hosts Terrell

Whitehouse hosts Sulphur Springs

Nacogdoches hosts Hallsville

There is not a clear cut favorite in the district right now. I would say Ennis and Nac have had the tougher schedule so far, that doesn't mean anything at all just making a statement.

Thoughts???

Your statement Ennis and Nac have had the tougher schedule is correct. It does mean something. You can t play p i s s ants and be prepared. Ennis has played all of their opponents well. Just can t finish. Let's play the season out and see what happens. Ennis and Nac are clear favs for Top 2

I still think Ennis, Corsicana and Nac are the favorites. They've played hard schedules. May be wrong, but still think it will be those 3 and Whitehouse getting the 4 playoff spots.

I am just not ready to say Nac is favorite for anything. We have lost all 3 games by at least 2 possesions so far. Making the playoffs would be great experience, but let's start by winning a Game.

Nac has some really good years coming but let's pump the breaks on being favorites.
