Stoney
One of the greatest rock stars of all time. One of my personal favorites. 66 years old is too dang young. R.I.P.
Mr. P
One of the greats. Most of his albums sound like "greatest hits" compilations because of his talent as a songwriter. My favorite is "You Got Lucky" from 1982: I remember watching this video on MTV when I was a kid and thinking "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers" was some sorta sci-fi TV show, and this was the opening theme.
MrBuddyGarrity
LAPD: (1/2)The LAPD has no information about the passing of singer Tom Petty. Initial information was inadvertantly provided to some media sources (2/2) However, the LAPD has no investigative role in this matter. We apologize for any inconvenience in this reporting. Guess we'll know more later.

Stoney
"Learning to Fly", "Breakdown", " I Won't Back Down".....too many other great songs of his were played loud running 154 and the back roads of Upshur County growing up. Every kid that turns 16 should have 4 albums given to them. AC/DC's Back In Black, Metallica's Master of Puppets, Led Zeppelin's IV and Tom Petty's Greatest Hits. That'll get you through the next two years and open doors for you musically that'll take you places you never expected to go.
CENTEXFAN
He dies on the same day of the worst mass shooting in America. So his death gets very little coverage. It is a shame.

Stoney
Watching "Runnin' Down a Dream".....I dig some of the early Mudcrutch versions of a couple songs than the Heartbreaker stuff. Pretty good documentary so far. It takes a good hour before he gets into creating the Heartbreakers.

Crawford
He will be miss. One of the greatest. Free fallen was one of my favorites. Did y'all know he had a small role in the movie "The Postman" in 1997, with Kevin Costner? Love the movie, by the way. May he rest in peace
