THAT was original, unlike everything else nowadays.......Smoking Man explained everything from the original series......while the syndicate was working with the aliens for colonization, he was secretly working to create a virus to wipe out all of humanity except the very few that were naturally immune.....he was using mulder to protect scully because of her immunity and because he was going to artificially impregnate her with an alien hybrid who would also be immune.........this is going to be a great ending season for a great show......... Skinner kills Monica Reyes........Smoking Man kills Skinner........William, who has morphed into Mulder, goads Smoking Man into shooting him in the head.........Mulder puts 9 rounds center mass into Smoking Man, who is finally dead for real.......Scully is pregnant......and as we fade to black, William resurfaces unharmed by the headshot........
