Parisian
Girls Standings: Pleasant Grove 2-0, Liberty-Eylau 2-0, Atlanta 1-1, Paris 1-1, North Lamar 0-2, Pittsburg 0-2 Boys start district play this weekend: Pleasant Grove @ Pittsburg Liberty Eylau @ Atlanta Paris @ North Lamar (Friday girls; Saturday boys) I don't see a regional tournament contender on either side. PG should repeat as girls champion. I don't think the boys champion will go unbeaten like Paris has done the past 3 seasons.

Parisian
That's a big win for the PG boys on the road. Pitt could be the sleeper team this year.

Pitt could be the sleeper team this year. agree with you, (Pitt coach has done an excellent job the last three years) Pitt is vastly improved and led the entire game until the last 69 secs, PG kid (Kameron Woods) drove the lane got fouled and made both ft's to put pg up and then a steal the ensuing intentional foul by Pitt..a couple of players ejected for leaving the bench...another turnover by Pitt and you have the final 7pt margin...the game was PHYSICAL last night PG had their entire squad on the floor for their seventh game together since end of football, they are still a work in progress...the Hawks are deep and can play nine/ten without much of a dropoff, when they start clicking the Hawks could be a tough nut to crack open...
Parisian
Who knows what the district realignment will hold for 14-4A next year (other than Atlanta won't be a part of it), but the new gym at Pittsburg can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned. Parisian
Wednesday at Paris: PG girls 63, Paris 59. Paris ended the first half on an incredible 16-0 run to go up by 16 at halftime then gave it away in the second half. PG boys 60, Paris 55 (OT). It was close throughout. I didn't think either team played particularly well, and I saw both previous meetings between the two. Paris got some open looks, but couldn't knock down the shots in the 4th quarter and OT. PG now has 2 big wins on the road and with the parity this year in the district, that's a huge advantage. I believe Atlanta is playing at NL tonight and Pitt is at L-E this afternoon. Bock
i give the ref crew an assist with the PG/NL girls game....three procedural calls that were not made...either the dudes were totally off their game focus or they dont know rules...NL scored on both possessions other call was at halftime...PG girls did not play well either & NL did which had something to do with the outcome... PG boys never trailed with a couple of early and late tie scores...starting to figure out the rotation of players with the late arrival of football...the hawks still had some lapses on both ends that allowed game to finish closer than it should have, however, going 2-0 in lamar county road games is no easy achievement, as Parisian said PG has the three longest road trips done for district...gotta take care of business at home in district
