Not hiring DA (assuming he wants to go back there) to me would mean some people in Daingerfield is scared of losing some power...

Like @INTENSIFICATION said... DA would come in and be a rock star... Tom Cruise of Daingerfield... a beloved figure that would appear to hold as much power over the town as any Supt ever could...

Bud Kilmer without all of the other stuff in that movie

Man DA was a great coach in his time those days of coaching is dead and gone. We need a guy that can come in get these kids believing that they can win. All of these coaches thats being named has never did anything outstanding. Lets be real and give Michael Mason a fair chance. If he dont get it done in a couple of years. Just give the job to someone else. The kids love this guy and will play there hearts out for him. Lets give these kids a chance to play for who they want to play for. A lot of the guys on here has never been in athletics. You don't know football are anything about these Coaches ur talking about. You have just heard there names. Lets do the right thing and give Michael Mason a chance

Daingerfid should land a helicopter on the C in Carthage, walk I to the building, escort Smitty out, and the rest is history.

Him and his wife would be taking a pay cut to go to Dfield. Doubt it would happen.

You think Coach Smith would take the job? He is a dang good insurance policy incase Surratt up and decides to leave in the next couple years. Would hate to see him leave, but he can definitely win at DF. I think DF has the players to run Carthage offense if he can develop a QB.

The superintendent and school board are getting flooded with emails, calls, and text in favor of DA.  I have put my two cents worth in myself and will sit back and wait to see what happens.  I will tell you this, with the talent we have right now and the talent coming up, they better make the right decision and not waste this time right now or I dare say the next school board election they will come up short.  I believe that they could have won at least two more titles in the last 7 years, however the talent was not used correctly, the discipline level went way down.  I am not as concerned with the coach at this point as I am with the tradition, pride, and discipline level I have seen on the field.  That is why I believe that we need someone that understands that to its fullest.  This is my last comment on this thread, we will see what happens, thanks

I’d love to see Coach Mason get the job. Can’t pass on a legend like Alexander I guess. I just know Coach Mason personally and he would have those young men where they’d walk on glass bare footed if he told them to. He’s a great motivator. I’ll probably get in trouble saying this but I’m sorry it’s important to have a black coach that is there and relate to the young black men on the squad. When he was at Pewitt when I played he was the glue that kept things together. We lost Coach Dorsey to NB last year and I’m sorry to say it showed. You’ve got to have a man on staff that can relate to the kids. It’d be nice to have coach back in Morris county even if it’s Dfield. Miss seeing him.

Where’s mason at right now

9-2,6-5,2-8 and 1-9 last 4 year record. Would you even consider a coach that went 3 and 17 in his last 2 seasons. I have no dog in this decision but they have a coach their now that would be a excellent choice

Is this DA's record?  Just curious...

I honestly would go after Bowman first if he was an option... then, go after choice #2 after that... whoever that may be.
