Well said my man. Well said. That's the best way you could put it from any view. Things happened obviously in this whole ordeal. Which side is right? Idk anymore. I just want the final resolution before it's to late.

By the way, there are no real sides here. There's a board and admin and a coaching hire process – and there's everyone who noticed something peculiar was going on.  It's the actions/decisions which will be deemed right or wrong and those who make them.

Ray Charles seen the damn two bit shim sham committee farce and the board/supt 3 card rummy attempt on the community. Nelson signed the bottom of a Bud light coaster for his contract last fall. the rest is pure smoke and mirrors. And as rents2danghigh said they are just praying the good ole folks will all lie down & roll over like good little serfs and accept it as " it is what it is"  now you need to be good little  folks and support the school and the new AD we rammed down your throats that well over 3/4  of the community does not want. :airquote:

Why do they want him?

I keep reading on this thread, and others, that the discipline is lacking there and that a certain coach is part of the problem..... if I was a player I'd want that coach to be boss cuz I already know what I can get away with.

People on this thread say a lot of things they know nothing about or just repeat what other people have said.  Many posters on this thread don't even attend the games or have anything to do with this program.  I have no idea where people get the idea he has a discipline problem when Waldie was the head coach the last two years.  He commands respect among his players and they know it.  He doesn't scream or yell at them, he takes them aside for correction and if the kids don't correct the issue they sit.  This whole Nelson hatred boils down to a few people not getting their way and they have now resorted to trashing the man as much as possible.  We "grown ups" should start acting like it and leave the program and kids in the program alone and let them do their respective jobs.

As a Daingerfield allum I am so ashamed that all of this is going on and to tell you the truth I am getting very tired of all of it.  It is not fair to any of us and especially the kids.  They just want to play ball and win.  Had a conversation with my Daddy just a few days ago and he is so disappointed, he has been watching this group of boys for a while, talking to them when he gets a chance, and so looking forward to watching them play now.  He is in his 80's and has been so looking forward to this bunch of kids getting to varsity and being able to possibly see another Championship before he goes home.  He said it is very sad that we a few people are willing to squander all of this talent for very selfish(really I have no idea what all of the reasons are but they are very sad).  We not only need a head coach but we need a coaching staff, one man with is not going to get it done no matter who he is, so we need to find the very best path at this point to getting a coaching staff, and stop wasting valuable time that these kids deserve.  It is time to stop all of the game playing, the selfish agendas and put these kids first and find the best path to a coaching staff or we are going to waste the talents of these kids and their futures.  Someone please take charge of this mess who has the kids best interest at heart and get this thing fixed.  Just makes me sick.....

I can promise you I have the kids first in my opinions. 2ndly is my town. I don't miss games. I follow everything WE do. I just want to get back to business and build our program.

Imo we need some HOMETOWN BLOOD in a few of these coaching vacancies. They know the struggle. Our kids need this. Its really simple to fix. I'd hate to be in his shoes right now.

There's your problem in the last sentence. Just move along, nothing to see here.

If you're going to be responsible caretakers of the people's money and children, then you don't move along and accept a mistake and force that mistake on your kids. If you're hoping to set an example for the district's kids – this isn't how you do it.

This isn't over, unfortunately. But it's no one's fault that its not over except those who still drag it out and fail to do the right thing. If they would do the right thing rather than stalling, it might be over by now.

I don't know Waldie or Nelson but did attend a game last year. I don't know who coaches defense but I thought he should be fired after watching a quarter of that game. When did we give up on defense at DF, of all places? lol I've never seen "catch and release" employed on a football field before.

I agree, the district would benefit greatly from some of the homegrown Tigers who are coaches out there. There are several very good ones. But at this point, I don't think any of them would even consider it.

The discipline issues aren’t going to go away with a new coach. They started in the children’s homes. When these boys watch their own parents ranting and raving in the stands then why can’t they act the same way? When a football team and coaches have to have a police escort off their own field... that’s not a coaching issue!

Daingerfield is so use to winning and losing is not in their blood. Sit back and join the rest of us and see what it is like.

The other issues will take time to straighten themselves out.

I wish Daingerfield the best of luck. Get back to your winning ways.

I honestly don't think this mess is over for some reason... We have a new AD and by now we should have had a few hires from outside with all the exits of some coaches but there's not much buzz about any other than 1 I've heard of. I hope we can move forward quickly and get going. The season will be here in a few months.

I take a month off and ya'll are still going hard on this post.😭🤣

I think we all want this situation to die down, but I still think there is some smoke and where there is smoke there is a fire. I don't think we are fanning the flames just talking about the situation.

There are some legal issues still in play and i think these are going to have an impact on what ultimately happens here.
