There’s a guy down the road that should jump on it. He’s from there and it’s his job to lose if you ask me 🤷🏽‍♂️

Same guy you said was getting the Livingston job?

Don't really think the Man down the road wants to touch that job. Would he leave Shepherd yes for a better paying job with players. Coldspring has been a mess for years and even he has to shake his head at the things that has been going on there. Why would anyone want to leave a job that has security in, to go to a school that the supt. and board members ran off a coach that won almost all of his games. The man down the road is a smart man.

Coldsprings had a lot of success under Coach Barbay in what is now 4A going deep in the playoffs several times

They then changed coaches in 2015 and then dropped classes in 2016

But despite the drop have not had any deep playoff runs

Based on that I am sure there are many Springs fans not happy.

Thanks for the info.  Talent comes and goes especially in a small town like ours.  The soon to be Junior class is about as good as it gets from around here.  Just hope we hired the guy that can lead them in the right direction.  Good luck to Coldspring in their hunt for the new AD/Football coach and hope it works out well for both towns for the kids sake.

I think Byrd will be a better fit for Whitney than he was for Coldspring.

Coldspring has done things a certain way for so long, they were and still are resistant to change. That is why you hear so many clamoring for Barbay to return. Not sure that is ever going to happen with the way they treated him. Miles would be a good choice.

Pay the man. He deserves it. Can’t find a better person or Coach in Texas.

Pay who? Barbay? Not sure there is enough money to heal those wounds. But, I've been wrong before.

Miles is a solid choice, don't see why he wouldn't take it if offered.

Hae the kids and Athletes to be successful. Obviously not up to par with other seasons as of late. Barbay had those kids ingrained and playing above there level together. Got to get another one like that.. and those are hard to find.

If they want to get the program back where it was they will Barbay. If they are satisfied with where things are they can go in a different direction.

They're ain't enough cheddar in Coldspring to bring Barbay back.

A lot of times people don't know how good they have something until it's gone.  The shame of it is places like Coldspring have high expectations every year and don't want to accept the reality of a down year or lesser talent; it's easier to blame coaching instead of "we're just down this year".

They have a STUD running back that will be just a sophomore next year. Kid rushed for over 1000 yards as a freshman, and they return their second leading rusher as well. Cupboard isnt bare for whomever steps into this position.

Sounds like they are primed for the return of Wing-T.
