Triton
Has the makings of being a fun district I believe. Seems there is lots of history with most of these teams. MP has been in and out of districts with most of these teams and have played all at some point in the last 10-12 years. Don't know much about what everyone has returning but Marshall has to be considered one of the favorites and Nac as well. I think MP is a year away from early reports and having a new staff. Will be nice to see some different venues for sure!
playactionpass39
Marshall wins the District Title, probably undefeated. Pine Tree cruises into the playoffs as the #3 team. Mt. Pleasant finds themselves near the bottom again next year. Nac gets over the hump and makes the playoffs finishing a distant 2nd to Marshall. The rest is just a guess, could be a three or four way tie for the final playoff spot. 1. Marshall (7-0) 2. Nac (5-2) 3.Pine Tree (4-3) 4. Lindale, Hallsville, Whitehouse (3-4) 7. Jacksonville (2-5) 8. Mt. Pleasont (0-7)

Its all about your luck, will they have good luck or bad luck Was 2017 just first year growing pains for Hallsville or a new trend for the Bobcats? they got a lot of skinny jean wearing boys over there. Who are the Darkhorses? they all are darkhorses Biggest game of the year? N/A How does Jacksonville fair not playing any home games in 2018? A GOOD TEAM WINS ALL THIER HOME GAMES AND SPLITS ON THE ROAD. Predicted finish for all 8 teams? N/A Does ETex football get a playoff win in 2018? They got four chances They didn't in 2016 or 17. Nacogdoches should have a better chance next season once their good group gets up there. Does PT continue their success after breaking their LONG playoff drought? - Going with no. Do MP's struggles continue? - Going with yes. Does Nac finally get over the hump and challenge for a playoff? - Going with yes. Same for Lindale? - Going with challenge for a playoff berth but not getting in. Was 2017 just first year growing pains for Hallsville or a new trend for the Bobcats? - Mixture. Cats will be a little better this year but don't think they'll get int. Who are the Darkhorses? - Maybe Whitehouse? This district just seems pretty set right now. Biggest game of the year? - Marshall vs Whitehouse or Naco. Also Jacksonville/Lindale. How does Jacksonville fair not playing any home games in 2018? - On the bubble. Predicted finish for all 8 teams? - Marshall, Whitehouse, Nacogdoches, Jacksonville, Lindale, Hallsville, Pine Tree, Mount Pleasant Does ETex football get a playoff win in 2018? They didn't in 2016 or 17. - Maybe Marshall depending how their season goes. But I think the district as a whole is still a low point. The biggest point will be for whomever to avoid the #3 spot in district if they do get a playoff win in round 1, as their next opponent would almost assuredly be Manvel. What are everyone's thoughts about 9-5A? - It's your typical 5A East Texas district right now. Hoping things can move forward for y'all this season! dillonpanthers
Marshall is the clear favorite (unless a coaching change derails them, but not likely). Everyone else to me is probably pretty comparable, except MP. I don't see them progressing much this year. My predictions: Marshall Nac Whitehouse PT Jacksonville Lindale Hallsville MP
Mavchamp
IMHO...... this team only derails if they don’t hire within. If the staff stays mostly intact.... the progression continues. If MISD starts from scratch..... could be painful. IF Mathis leaves.... I think one of the coordinators gets it.
Greenville
Good luck to all the teams. I'm going to keep an eye on this district even though we're not in it anymore.

Nacwagons
Who are the favorites for the district title in your opinion? I am not sure I can Pick Nac. to be a favorite after winning 1 game last year, but if the '18 Sophmores are as good as advertised then I think they are a playoff team. 1.Marshall 2.Jacksonville-Based on making playoffs in '17 3.Nacogdoches 4.Pine Tree 5.Lindale 6.Whitehouse-Graduated the entire defensive line 7.Hallsville 8.Mount Pleasant Does PT continue their success after breaking their LONG playoff drought? Yes, I think PT makes the playoffs Do MP's struggles continue? Yes Does Nac finally get over the hump and challenge for a playoff? I have said yes for 3 years in a row and been wrong but this group of Sophs and Juniors has the potential to be special. The next 3-4 years could be Nacs. best groups since 1992. (We predict this a lot eventually it will come true:) Same for Lindale? Lindale plays hard every week, and plays a lot of close games. Lindale's AD was my basketball coach in high school. I think the challenge for a playoff spot. Was 2017 just first year growing pains for Hallsville or a new trend for the Bobcats? From the outside looking in I didn't see anything to get excited about. I have no idea what JV and (th grade did for them, but varsity in '17 wasn't good. Who are the Darkhorses? Jacksonville-Not sure what they graduated, but back to back playoff years in a district harder than the one they just got placed in. Biggest game of the year? Marshall/Nac-first regular season game in a long time could be for the district lead. Marshall/Jax and Nac/Jax How does Jacksonville fair not playing any home games in 2018? See above Predicted finish for all 8 teams? See above Does ETex football get a playoff win in 2018? Yes, A&M Consolidated is the biggest threat out of the district we play. They didn't in 2016 or 17. What are everyone's thoughts about 9-5A? Its going to be a fun district, I have not seen Nac play MP and I haven't been to Marshall for a game. bordertown
Historically the size differential, but last year PG could have definitely competed with Texas High.

JT HAD to play Lindale because Lindale was in JT's district. And so was Pine Tree and Hallsville, and etc. IF not, JT wouldn't schedule them. So unless Chapel Hill moves into JT district, JT will probably never schedule them for football.
