Those quotes won't do any good....there were people during the American Revolution who would have rather stayed enslaved to the British Crown than fight for their freedom.....there are people involved in this struggle who won't lift a finger to fight for their freedom, either........I enjoyed reading them again, though...thank you....

Actually, those quotes were from:

I think there will be a lot of voters out come the next big election, but they have to stand on a common ground and not be devisive. We all know what needs to be done and the decision has probably been made by the majority. Now we don't need to beat that horse, but just wait for the polls to open..

Why does it have to be an either your willing to fight or your someone who is on the sideline?

 

You can "fight" for your beliefs without it turning into an actual fight. That should be the very LAST resort and I dont think we are even close to ithat.

 

Go ahead and sit at home while I fight for you. I'll call you when it's over.

You see the thing is hunting season is over and now some East Texans are left with too much ammunition. They are beginning to develop a slight case of the Eisenhower Complex.

 

There will not be an armed revolution no more than Texas will secede from the Union. This is just the talk of frustrated middle aged men who wish that they would've lived more in their youth.

I realize that many don't vote, take a look at the percentage of our nation that does vote in any election. Election turnouts are killing this nation, because we have allowed for people with obscure ideas about this Nation to elect officials. I realize that it's only we only account for one vote, but the "silent majority" is becoming upset, and they wonder why. Many people don't care, and they choose not to vote, because they think that their one little vote doesn't count. It's time that we woke those people up.

 

I've followed politics for many years. I've been involved as a supporter of various candidates. I wouldn't want to run for public office, because I'm not good at lying or even telling a half truth. I have remorse when it comes to that. I don't see how politicians can do it to be honest.

 

I see where BHO has lied to many of his constituents now. I even tried to defend him, because I paid attention to the debates. I thought we were going to be out of the Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan by now. I thought the doors would be open for homosexuals to enlist in the military without any questions by now. I didn't think that Senators and Representatives would lay on the Congressional Floor, and allow for many of these bills and free spending to happen the way they have. If the rest of America is cutting back on expenses, and selling their posessions to make ends meet. Why isn't our government tightening their belt as well ?

 

Instead they are going to tax every penny that they can out of us, with their social programs. How can people give, when they are trying to make ends meet, and the dollar is being devalued at every bill passage ? I'm not going to be controlled by this government, because they think they can run my life better than I can. They can't even run the government. They're creating a huge financial mess, and reducing everyone regardless of the blood and sweat that they have worked hard for.

 

Our government is creating a larger dependence upon them, with no way to pay for it. Our Representatives and Senators better wake up, or there will be a Civil War on their hands. That's what we are all saying.

 

I think Texas should succeed and close it's borders, not to just hispanics, but from the idiots that think that socialism is the answer. This socialism started, when parents quit being involved in their childrens education in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. I've seen it happen even in Texas. Parents aren't teaching their children about politics, because they think it's a taboo subject. Nobody is standing up for policies and lifestyles that have worked. Today, Americans want to try policies and ideaologies of the past that didn't work, but since they're in America, Americans can make it work.

 

I truly feel sorry for the future of America, if we don't turn this tide around.

And if you people are really trying to compare the current situations in America with the late 1700's and the American Revolution, you are more delusional than I could have ever imagined. So sad.

The difference is you don't have the guts to take your gun and fight. Don't wait for others to jump on board so you can tag along. Lead the charge, Fivehead. Lead the Tea Party into Washington and revolt against your oppressive government. I want to read the name Fivehead in history books for years to come, because he stood up for what he thought was right, grabbed his gun and let it do the talking as he attempted to lead America into another revolution.

So I'm somewhat with Chase here.

I'm still not sure how whats going on here would constitute a new Revolution, or Civil War.

When the "enemy" soldiers on whatever struggle may be formed are permitted to eat your food and sleep in your beds, in your household, that would certainly be a good reason to take up arms.

As far as a civil war goes, I doubt too many are willing to go that far, or will be for quite some time.

I also feel like It would'nt be very uniform, or black and white either.

Also, I understand I came in late, but I thought I would throw my opinion in!

I realize that you may not read much, but there are only two count them two States that are in the black right now. Black is a good thing, when it comes to economics. Those two are Texas and Alaska. Do you understand the resources that Texas has available ?

 

I don't think you've lived very long in Texas, otherwise you'd understand the lay of the land. Texas has the commodities that people need. We have fossil fuels, timber, agriculture, dairy, our on silicon valley in Plano, nuclear fuel, wind turbines, you name it we have most resources that would put Texas as the 8th most productive country if it were it's on it's own.

 

Who would need the U.S. to trade with them, because the U.S. is floundering with the checks that we are writing that we can't cash. BHO has been reaching out to his allies with Venezuela, Cuba, and his appeasement to the Arab World. Look, I don't want to see it, but our government is just a big printing machine right now. I'm sure that Osama bin Laden is laughing in his cave right now, because that was his desired purpose by the terrorist attacks. His goal and George Soros goal was to bring down America, and we've allowed it to happen.

 

Why ?

 

I could go into a lengthy discussion about this, and show you proof and not conjecture. I never thought in my lifetime, that America would be so divided than we are today. I never thought that people of America would want something for nothing. I think we've arrived at that point, and steps have to be taken to remedy it. This land used to be about working hard for every penny you earned, now it's expected to be provided by the government.

 

I'd rather die, than be subject to the living conditions that a government would impose on me, and I think we're already there.

One, you can pick any point or place and look at history and see that any moment civil revolt is not far away. You can't deny history.

Second, hunting season is not over. Ends Jan 3rd. And since you mentioned the shotgun, Duck season doens't end till Jan 24th. Just wanted to clear that up.

Third, look at history. Do you honestly think one way or the other, that the U.S. will stand forever? History shows us that it will not, no nation, however powerful, lasts forever. So either we will fall to another nation, or we will self destruct from within. It is a given.

 

Chase, there is a quote that I think fits "having a life." I would rather die on my feet, than live on my knees. See every country, good or bad, people live or are alive. What most here are talking about is living by our own decisions, by beliefs and means that we truly believe are necessary for "living." All most are saying is that we believe the government is overstepping its constitutional rights. I would venture a guess here that most on this board would much rather see the government reclaimed by our suffrage right. We are not blood thirsty holligans wanting to kill. We want to live by the prinicples that our history gives us, a history that made this country great. If you look at the founding of this country, the principles this country was built on, and look at those same principles today. You cannot say our system is better off today. You cannot.

 

Will revolution come? It always does. Will it come soon? I hope not.
