2018 Season Predictions

Lobo97

Recommended Posts

With the start of the season just a little over 2 weeks away, let's get started with some pre-season predictions.

Team record predictions

Team game by game predictions

Conference winners

Playoff teams

National Champions

Heisman

Etc.

Now, while anyone and everyone is free to list their predictions of any team/player they want, note the Title of the thread....2018 Season! That means this thread will not turn into a, "Well look what your team did in 2015 compared to mine.". Any prior year references should be relevant to the upcoming season.

From the article: There also are plenty of bonuses based on how the schedule lays out for the Hogs’ opponents. For example, three Arkansas opponents face Alabama the week before taking on the Hogs. Here are seven Arkansas opponents that face a difficult game(s) prior to playing the Razorbacks:

Colorado State plays rival Colorado on Sept. 1.

Auburn hosts LSU on Sept. 15.

Texas A&M plays at Alabama Sept. 22.

Vanderbilt will face the Hogs in Little Rock on Oct. 27 after playing at Georgia (Oct. 6), Florida at home (Oct. 13) and at Kentucky (Oct. 20) in consecutive weeks.

LSU plays the Crimson Tide on Nov. 3.

Mississippi State travels to Alabama on Nov. 10.

Missouri is at Florida (Nov. 3), home vs. Vanderbilt (Nov. 10) and at Tennessee (Nov. 17) in consecutive weeks before hosting Arkansas on Nov. 24.

Heisman: 1. Fromm  2. Tate  3. McSorley  4. Love

C'mon man, it's my thing, I'm practically a cliche by this point...  remember, I'm the dude who always writes those long paragraphs of doom and gloom that usually spirals into OU being shut down and Oklahoma losing statehood.

For Heisman, it's almost impossible to predict anyone other than a QB. They may as well change the award to, 'Best Quarterback', because that's pretty much the only position they ever award anyway.

That said, I'll take Jake Fromm. I think the combination of the season he will have statistically, as well as the overall record I project his team to have, will lead him to win it.

I think they have 2 toss up games...S Carolina and LSU. For prediction purposes, I split them. However, I could just as easily see them going 6-6 or 8-4, based on the outcome of those two games.

The home team hasn’t won a game in the auburn series yet, so I’m sticking with the status quo and saying A&M wins on the road lol

The playoff prediction is the hardest one for me to make. I have Wisconsin, Georgia, and Clemson as my locks. I think all 3 go undefeated. The 4th spot is where I think it's up for grabs.

I have Alabama with only 1 loss, and that is to Georgia in the SEC Championship game. Of my Pac and Big 12 winners, unless one of them finishes undefeated, then I think the 4th spot will go to Bama. I don't see 4 teams finishing the season undefeated, so I'll go with...

Clemson, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Bama

Clemson over Georgia for the NC.

ACC- Clemson

BIG10- Wisconsin

Big 12- Oklahoma

PAC 12- Washington

SEC- Alabama

A&M record-

Northwestern State- Win

Clemson- Loss

Louisiana Directional School- Win

Bama- Loss

Arkansas- Flip a coin

Kentucky- Win

The Fighting Muschamps- Loss

8-4,7-5....although we tend to play Auburn better on the road than at home but I’m not that crazy.

SFA (8-3) - This is obviously best case scenario with the team moving on from the Conque saga, and completely buying in to what Byrd is selling. This team could easily drop another two or three games along the way. Sam Houston and Central Arkansas will not be easy wins. Abilene will be looking for revenge, and I'm not sure playing Northwestern State on short rest from what will be a physical game at Nicholls will be a good situation.

9/1 @ Mississippi State - L
9/8 vs. Tarleton State - W
9/15 @ Incarnate Word - W
9/22 vs. Abilene Christian - W
9/29 @ McNeese - L
10/6 vs. Sam Houston (@NRG Stadium) - W
10/13 vs. Central Arkansas - W
10/20 @ Houston Baptist - W
10/27 vs. Lamar - W
11/10 @ Nicholls - L
11/15 vs. Northwestern State - W

Always set your expectations on the floor. That way if they don't exceed, you were prepared. If they do exceed, it's so much sweeter.
