you can't be serious?  what do you think the crusades were all about?  i'm guessing you don't know history very well.

every heard of St. Thomas Aquinas?  he killed a whole bunch of people that he thought were heretics and witches.

guessing you also never heard of the Papal bull issued by Pope Nicholas V against the Saracens?  millions killed in that one.

or how about the amount of native americans killed when the spaniards swept across the Americas trying to convert all of them to Christianity?  remember any of that?

ALL of it in the name of Jesus.

what you are failing to comprehend is that there has been killing in the name of religion for centuries.  you only take exception with it when the peccadilloes of the religion you believe are called into question when you question the ones of another religion.

I might have a better understanding than you think.

The crusades have had religion tied to it.  However, we are discussing radicalized religions.

Are you saying radicalized Christians left home to squash a Muslim invasion.  No sir, that is not the case.

The facts are undeniable.  The crusades was not a terrorist attack in the name of Jesus.  9/11 was a terrorist attack in the name of Allah.

What about Bosnia in the Mid 1990's   ?  They killed anybody who was not Christian.  Mainly Muslims and Catholics.

The sad part is you're mentioning times that were 500 - 1000 years ago.  That's been stopped, yet Muslimes today keep killing.  As for the Conquistadors they were looking for Gold which in essence is from greed, and that is not a teaching of Jesus Christ.  As for the crusades the Muslimes attacked first, and the Christians were trying to retake the lands.  I can't add those totals to the number of people killed for Christianity the same after parts of Europe were conquered by Muslime invaders.

Bosnia wasn’t necessarily a religious confrontation.

I was there first rotation.  Crawled through the mass grave were 8,000 non Christians,  in Serbinica looking for mines so they could secure the war crime site.  Then went to the small city of Brcko , and engaged the militia who committed the war crimes.  You need to unrearend your head if you say that was not a mainly religious war.  This war was brought on by decades of religious intolerance.

Operation Joint Endeavor.

Bosnia was making the transition from Yugoslavia and the Government didn't have the resources to have a strong army.  This is why militias of various people including atheist under the Communist regime of Yugoslavia were committing war crimes, yet you want to call it a religious war.  As you wrote above they were slaughtering not only Muslimes but Catholics as well.  That was more of a war for power, and not for religion.  So if you going to tell someone to learn history, perhaps you should understand the History of that region.  That is another facet of communism/socialism that I do not want to see in America, but you seem to embrace it for some reason.

Well when we praise them for doing it to other religions we sure don’t honor our constitution.

If you don't see the pattern then you simply don't understand the method.  I've seen it before in other countries, and I certainly don't want it happening here with our "living breathing document" that I feel is set in stone.

Wrong !  I asked them why they ( militias ) did the war crimes.  They just replied; " Who cares they were not Christians.  Isn't America a Christian nation ? "  They were brought up on hate.  The Bosnian War may have started in the 90s, but the making of the war was the making of teaching hate to people who think different.  The Serbs tried to make people with different religions second class citizens.  That is when Bosnia broke away from Yugoslavia.  Same thing happened a few years later in Kosovo.  I got out of military before Kosovo.  America loves to twist history to where Christians were the good guys all the time, or just say it wasn't a religious war.

By the way it was A Christian who took photos of what was a concentration  camp like conditions.  Newsweek magazine got a hold of them, and NATO went in before the picture came out in the weekly magazine.  Some of us still remember the News Week magazine where they had a split cover of Nazi concentration camp and the current at the time Serbian concentration camp  Title said" NEVER AGAIN ?"

I see the pattern very clear. Defend only the rights that agree with a persons belief system. If they dont then they dont matter. Same people will then give the give an inch take a mile speech when it is 2nd amendment.

You are like a broken record with your criticism of people’s Rights to protect themselves from their own government.

The root cause of the Bosnian war is tied to the aftermath of WWII and what it meant for that region.  Although genocide was one of the things that happened in this war, it certainly wasn’t religious in nature.

Hell, one regime involved was atheistic

This is called rewriting history to make people look better than they were.

The collapse of communism and the individual countries attempt to establish independence led to the war in Bosnia.  The problem began after reorganization of that region post WWII.

The communists kept all this under control with their brutal tactics....once the common enemy of everyone, totalitarian brutality, disappeared, there was nothing to keep them from taking their hatred out on their perceived enemies.

Pay close attention to this....by turning the subject back over 20  years, you have turned the discussion from what is actually going on TODAY, which is what is important.......NO MORE POSTS ABOUT THE BOSNIAN WAR WILL BE ALLOWED ON THIS THREAD.......start a separate thread about that if you want........THIS thread is about how China is handling the muslims over there........
