LoboFan07
So here's the breakdown for 12-6A. Apparently Ellison is completely eliminated. So that gives us Killeen (3-4) and Copperas Cove (4-3) left. Killeen faces Waco this week while Cove faces Temple. Killeen is going to beat Waco (Waco is just god awful), so then comes down to Cove beating Temple as the Dawgs have to beat Temple to get in (Killeen would win the tiebreakers). If TEMPLE wins, Longview will host Temple on November 16th in the bi-district game. If COPPERAS COVE wins, Longview will host Copperas Cove on November 16th in the bi-district game. The ball is in Temple's court really. If they win, they're headed to Lobo Stadium. If they lose, they stay home in Temple for their first round game and will face either Mesquite Horn or Tyler Lee (granted North Mesquite isn't technically eliminated so they could still get Rockwall, but that's extremely unlikely). What to do if you're the Wildcats? Do you throw it for a home game plus an easier opponent or do you go all out for the win and then hit the road against a most likely undefeated team at their home that they've lost just four times on the field in the last 15 years??

Quick
It looks like Mesquite Horn has awaken and come out of their 2 month coma. That is NOT good news for other teams. Mesquite is about to come out will all guns blazing this upcoming Friday night. Our coaches need to have them prepared for every possible onsides kick attempt, fake punts and Mesquite going for it every time on manageable, 4th downs. Also, the score doesn't tell you the entire story but, if our defense comes with that lackadaisical BS in the bi-district game against a Temple team, we ARE going to get eliminated. Period. Outside of a couple of games our defense has been suspect. Our offense has just put the games out of reach so much that it demoralizes the opponent MENTALLY to not even try hard enough or put forth any concerted effort towards stopping us. 2

I was gonna say something similar, but you pretty much nailed it. Absolutely no reason to lollygag at this point. Defense needs to be playing lights out. Every game, every quarter, every play. This team can do it. They can go all the way. But it's gonna have to be a complete TEAM effort.

Last night was the most points they've allowed in over a month. I really think everyone is just ready for November 16th to get here. I would usually worry about a game like this week, but this team is just so different from our usual ones that I know they'll come to play, but everyone has to be just ready for the big ones to start getting here.
LoboFan07
BTW, with all of Perry's records broken forgot to mention that...King tied Chumley for most multi touchdown passing games in a career last night with his 18th. He's only started 19 games. 1

"YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME..." but in this case...morals, pride, and all that other mess should be out the freaking window! I for one believe Lobo defense is very suspect but but who in their right minds would pass up a home game to travel over 3 hours or more to play a likely undefeated #4 ranked team??? And you get to play a lesser opponent at home?? If Temple tanked...I wouldn't be mad at them.
LoboFan07
I don't understand this bashing of our defense constantly. They're exactly what we all thought they would be. Up front they're very solid, and the secondary is a little suspect. We might give up some yards, but they hold their own and bend but don't break, pretty much exactly like last season. Have we played a solid team since Rockwall? Heck no. But even in the first five games of the season, they made stops when we needed to most. We haven't given up a score in the 4th quarter since the first game against Lufkin. We've given up 30 points since the Rockwall game. 65 overall in district play. Only teams that have more than two scores on us this season are Lufkin, Ruston and Rockwall. They'll be fine. 3

But they will have to stay focused once round 3 arrives. Our O...I said it way back in spring ball...no one is going to stop them except themselves. And that is exactly what has happened throughout this entire season. Backfield is going to torch Temple after what Fullbright from Midway just did to them. Gametyme
I don't think Temple takes a dive but I do think they rest there starters maybe after a series or two. I follow this area closely. Having lived in Killeen for nearly 8 years. Actually my oldest son will play for Temple varsity next year as a freshmen or at least it's on the table. So this is interesting to me to see what Temple will do. I know I would personally play the back ups. Avoid injuries and Longview. 1
