Came in at 5’8 205.

4.5 40

 19 reps on bench.

33 vertical

121 long jump.

One of the more well rounded numbers of the day and not a bad size for him. He’s probably the best pass blocker in the class and this year really became an efficient runner getting the most out of every carry. He will probably be a 3rd rounder and have a good career as a 3rd down specialist.

205 is a great number for him. Didn’t need to be 210, might coulda got down to 200 and been okay. Looking more and more like Dodson may have sold himself short coming out this year and not waiting for his senior year. There’s no day 2 talk. Day 3 (4th,5th,6th,7th rounds) probably more realistic. Maybe we could get a walk-on named Dyrell Todson take his place next year?

I figured he was a bit taller.  He definitely runs “Bigger” than his size.  He was tough to bring down.

Yea he hurt himself. As did Jace IMO. Both of them needed another year. They are mid-late round guys who could have played their way into 2nd round picks with another good year.

Yes he does. And there’s not a lot of wasted motion in his running style either. He has good patience and can turn the 1-2 yard gains into 3-4 yard gains easily with his ability to see the hole and hit use balance and vision to get what he can.

Same with LJH, these kids need to listen to the folks who have their best interest at heart.  Too often too many declare and lose out

Remember when Strong went all in on Kyle Porter instead of going after Williams and Darius Anderson?

Can’t argue there, his production was nice.

Kinda figured this would happen with Turner’s leaving but Akinola Ogunbiyi has decommitted from A&M. Not sure he’d be the kind of guard that Henson would look for or not.

He was easily the best of the 4 commits.  But you may be right, new coach may want to reset the board.

Expect all the offensive lineman committed to look around. Which is fine. 2 of the 4 committed very early and didn’t develop as juniors as much as the staff expected.

Is Henson more of a zone blocking type OL coach or did I dream that up? That could change the type of guys were looking for up front.

Why would the blocking scheme change when it’s jimbo’s offense?  I’d think he’d still want the same type of OL recruits they were after before.

He will. I don’t think it’s a problem. It #### losing this kid, but two of the others need to go. They committed super early sophomore year and then had poor filmed and gained bad weight as juniors. They have been needed to be cut loose since before turner left.

I just hate seeing people make excuses that make no sense.  Jimbo won’t hire an OL coach that don’t fit what he does, or can’t learn and coach what he does.  Jimbo also wasn’t going to hire a guy and allow him to change the blocking schemes within his own offense

I didn’t take what he said as an excuse. I think what he’s saying is that certain position coaches like certain things about players. It’s not uncommon at all for  a new position coach to have his own preference in terms of types of players. Most position coaches pick the players and the HC just signs off on them. Most position coaches pick their depth chart and the HC signs off on it. So it’s not that hard to imagine that a new position coach wants different things and it someone effects who gets offered or who starts. I think that’s what he was getting at by the whole scheme thing.

I think he’s actually going to get released from his LOI rather than transfer.

It’s not ideal but it’s okay, let’s just check the free agent market, I mean the “transfer portal” to see who might replace him.

SFA players are all over him, and he retweeted something about SFA offering another kid...I know Keller and Kennedy are close, so wonder if that is coming into play
