How drunk was this game?? The blocked PAT returned for 2 points was the difference in this game.

Only thing worse than the Texas defense was Kansas kicking.

- missed fg - 3pts

- missed extra pt - 1pt

- blocked fg - 3pts

- blocked extra pt run back for 2 pt conversion - 2+1=3 pts

Kansas could have easily won this game. 🤕

And that was supposed to be the strength of the defense after the last two cycles...

When you have guys healthy and playing positions they are supposed to, they are the strength of the defense. But these past 3 weeks have shown just how thin the secondary is, and combine that with youth, this is what you get

Yeah but Orlando has at least been good for most of Herman’s tenure.

This is the frustrating part about the injuries. The defense was going to take a step back this year experience wise but the talent was supposed to be better. The last time we saw the whole defense healthy was LSU and that left a lot to be desired.

Texas defense is porous. Lack of pressure on the quarter back is troubling. However, the win is the most important no matter how you get it. Style points only matter when trying for a playoff spot.

I actual felt the defense did pressure the QB. There were not many sacks but a lot of hurried passes that fell incomplete. I give credit to the Kansas QB for getting his passes off and making his reads. The issue in my opinion was coverage.  If injuries in the secondary continue we are going to have to put Whittington in secondary.

I agree somewhat. I would have liked to see Texas at full strength. Legitimately they had potential for a playoff spot.

Texas can barely beat mediocre teams. No way they are worthy of the ranking they have.

Last night's game was a classic "trap" game coming off the RRR hype. Texas survived playing with guys that were never expected to touch the field this year in a contested game. I'm just hoping we can get some injured players back quickly.

Fred Akers once said, “A win is a win is a win.”

i understand what you are implying but at the end of the day it is wins and losses and not point differential that matters. But you are right. Texas needs to dominate.

From a man that settled for a tie against Georgia with a national title in reach. (By the way I loved Akers defenses.)

I didn’t even get to watch the game.  I had to keep up with it on espn and multiple boards.  I will prolly wait and watch Texas Overdrive to get it with Craig Way.  It sounded to me like the defense played a bunch of young guys.  I’m wondering if Herman just wanted to give players a week to heal or if he just thought he’d get the young guys some game time and Kansas was a weak enough opponent to do it.  Idk.

I've heard "trap" game when Texas plays more than any other team. Texas defense just isn't good, I think they get by with talent alone and a few lucky breaks. Offense calls head scratching plays at time and relies on Ehlinger way too much. Texas hasn't had a good offensive line since the National Championship.  Minor fixes but I highly doubt any of it gets corrected.
