I listened to it for a while but crashed before it was over.

Stanford took game 2, 8-1. Texas had 2 errors early that lead to the game getting out of hand. Stanford took a 7-0 lead after 3 and never looked back.

The worst news is Catcher Michael McCann was injured in the game. With DJ Petrinsky already done for the year that leaves Texas with only a walkon freshman behind the plate. No word yet on the extent of McCanns injury.

Is it typical to only have 2 scholarship catchers?

Kendall Rogers reporting that C Mccan will miss at least the rest of the Stanford series with a severe contusion in the groin area.

Injury bug is not being kind to the Horns early this season. Texas down 3 everyday starters and the backup catcher.

Texas dropped game 3 last night to the Cardinal 4-2.

After taking a 1-0 lead into the 5th inning 2 errors in the bottom half gave up the lead. Texas scrapped back in the 7th to tie it at 2 but 2 more errors an a walk allow Stanford to add 2 more runs and hold on for the win.

Texas will look for the split today at 3pm central.

Texas kinda getting a raw deal in game 4 vs Stanford. A 0-0 game turned into a 8-0 after the umps forced Texas to play through a literal downpour and 15 cardinal batters came to the plate in the home half of the 4th. Walks and wild pitches hurt the Horns but the rain was so bad the catcher literally got stuck in the mud on one wild pitch when he couldn’t slide to block the pitch.

Texas beat Texas Southern last night 17-3. Nice to have a light game because the next 3 series are ROUGH. Texas Tech, Arkansas, and TCU all up next.

I also saw that Texas A&M fell to Dallas Baptist last night. Which is no knock to the Ags because DBU is a legit program.

Tech took game 2 this afternoon 3-0.

Henley pitched 7 scoreless innings but started the 8th with 2 walks and both scored after a sac fly and a single. Texas loaded the bases in the bottom of the 9th but Reynolds flyout to left to end it.

Not going to win many games with only 1 hit.

It happens on a Tuesday game. And with the Horns trying to get over the injury bug, you have to think they're trying out different pitchers and such. It won't make or break the season for either team. Neither will the Tuesday game when A&M visits Austin in a few weeks.

Tuesday games are fun because of the teams playing, but like you said they don't make or break your team. Your Tuesday starter (most of the time) is 4th rotation kinda guy. So there's never that weekend series atmosphere feel to a Tuesday night game. Just fun to play other big time teams that aren't in the same conference.

Any comments on the Texas baseball game last night?

watched for about 3 to 4 innings and just was disappointed in our lack of hitting (this has been all season) and again the fact that we continue to walk far too many batters (that against good teams, turn into runs).

I just think you should play to win every game.  If you’re just wanting experience for your 4-5-6 pitchers schedule easier teams instead of teams that will embarrass you.

Playing those big time teams are only fun when youre not spotting them 10 runs the first 3 innings.
