I always find it puzzling when people use the guns dont kill people people kill people thing. If you are really about the 2nd amendment then using this helps the cause for gun control. The laws are for THE PEOPLE. Using this line makes the anti-gun crowds argument for them.

Guns generally can't pull their own trigger. Guns are inanimate objects that need to be acted upon by an outside force to operate. That's what "guns don't kill people, people kill people" means.

I'll do you one better: With the number of stabbings in the U.K., a member of parliament is suggesting they put GPS trackers in all knives sold. No, I'm not joking.

Why? Because knife and weapon offenses were at a nine-year high.

From what I can tell of that article, at least, it seems that the court ruled that Remington can be sued because they knowingly marketed the Bushmaster as an option for killing people, 'perceived enemies', and that is illegal under Connecticut law, not that someone simply used their weapons to kill.

Show me any advertising that they did that.  I have never heard of a single gun maker make that claim.  Usually it's for hunting.  Then again I've never seen any guns advertised on television, and have only seen ads for guns in newspapers none that claim they are good for killing anything.  Just a photo of the weapon, it's specifications, and the price.  Where are they coming up with this ????

That's for anything, including alcohol.  If a person drinks themselves to death or gets drunk and drives; has a wreck and kills someone then that person is at fault not any alcoholic beverage.  Those are individual choices, and there are millions of gun owners and alcoholics in America.  Not all of them kill people it's only a few.  You simply want to control guns and probably alcohol.  We tried prohibition, and it didn't work.

They ARE made for the purpose of defending one’s self; Those guns are not “hunting arms”....They are an Equalizer for people to defend themselves from their own government....

Speak for yourself, those guns were meant for hunting :  https://www.ammoland.com/2018/07/the-450-bushmaster-todays-choice-hunting-cartridge-part-1/#axzz5iI7hHwOW

And just following the laws of our country works even better. All this talk of violence from the right makes us look like a third world and not the republic we are.

It's the left that is trying to turn America into a third world country with their talk of socialism.  We want to keep America free as in Freedom, you pinko's see it as a monetary thing which is slavery to the Government.

There is only one in Waskom that I am aware of, it was built during the Cuban Missile Crises, it is still there but the family moved a long time ago.

There used to be a Quonset hut bombshelter down the steeet from my home that had a bathroom, etc. that could accommodate probably 40 or 50 people. It was built during the Cuban Missle Crisis. Kids broke into it and vandalized it back in the late sixties; It was removed in the late 90’s. I believe it was built by the neighborhood & built on the property of Dr. Glen Johnson &/or Coach Philip Koonce. It had soil pushed up high enough to cover it completely.

I think Leonard Johnson or somebody else from Waskom delivered those concrete shelters for a while ....

Leonard may have done some of that after Fab Steel shut down

There are 4 or 5 manufactures of those storm shelters in Shreveport/Bossier ... they come in concrete, steel, even molded composite material .... evidently there is still a pretty good market for them ... most are underground, some above ground ...

Funny years back people like me were rinos, now we are pinkos. I remember when you guys laughed at the idea of trump running and now you follow everything he does like good sheep.

I didn't jump on the Trump wagon, until I saw his results.  He's been doing a great job.  I never thought I would like him.  He proved me wrong.  He has done nothing to hurt the left, but they still think he's a terrible President.  For what ???  Still talking like a fourth grader.  He might, but his results show otherwise.

I don’t know a Soul in East Texas who has a cellar!😂

They were mainstays back in the day.  My Grandparents on my Dad's side had one and many Uncles and Aunts on both side of my family had them.  They were fun to explore as a kid.  You could tell they were rarely use with the cobwebs and snakes that you would find.  Usually they might have some cans of food and a battery powered radio inside and a kerosene lamp.

There is a guy in Henderson that makes fiberglass storm shelters. Makes a good living doing it.

I wonder how many of them are flooded now, after all the rain we have had this year? That’s why I have’nt seen of them around here; the ground is just too saturated.

I think there is a company near Waskom or Shreveport that makes and sells concrete storm shelters ... the Home Depot in Lufkin sells steel vault shelters ...

I could have used one Wed. morning.  I lost my roof in that storm due to straight line winds.  Daddy gets a new roof for a 10,000 dollar deductible.
