It's been a while since we've taken roll of SDC Political Forum posters, and I'd like to know how some of y'all describe your own politics.

I tried to include as many "denominations" as possible, without getting too far in the weeds. But if you feel like there's another category that represents you, I'll be glad to revise the poll.

And for those of you who (like me) are kinda all over the map, YOU CAN CHOOSE MULTIPLE CATEGORIES!

Funny that none of these diehard blowhards own up to their UnAmerican Views by admitting that they are Socialists.

Yes, and I'm surprised we don't have more "Neo Con" Republicans...  I guess Dubya still leaves a bad taste in a lotta mouths.

Too right-wing for moderates. Too moderate for right-wingers.

I often wonder how different things would be had the GOP gone in a different direction in 1996 than nominating that fossil bob dole in 1996?  The wing of the R party that thinks that they're going to win elections by doing nothing more than passing corporate tax cuts continues to amuse me.  It's almost as if they want to lose....

Ross Perot help Clinton out by running on the third party ticket. Clinton never received 50% of the vote. Dole was as you say a terrible candidate to start with also

Hindsight is 20/20 and all but looking back it was bush sr who was the mistake, not perot. And i voted for Bush.  Perot and a few others stood against the bush/clinton coalition that preferred to send the jobs to mexico where they can pay pennies on the dollar compared to american workers.  That's the same coalition that Trump is having to contend with today.  This would've been alot easier to fix 25 years ago.

I was always curious of how the election would have went without Perot in the mix, I believe he took a lot of conservative voters away from Bush and may have taken some away from Clinton also.

Bush would've likely won,  but on the issue of trade and the horrible nafta deal,  there was no difference between bush and clinton.  There still isn't. And for someone such as myself who believes this unfair, one-sided trade system and yearly trade deficits in the billions is the single biggest contributing factor in the decline of the usa as the undisputed world's super power.  Heck,  we basically financed the chinese economic and military buildup since that time period.  To me,  that's simply unforgiveable.

"Compassionate Conservative Libertarian" (whatever the heck that is).

I lean Conservative on a lot of things, but I don't know specifically how to describe my conservatism. I'm not "Conservative" in the way a leftist or Liberal would describe them though, I don't think.

That means giving money to liberal causes

I get what you're saying, that's why I tried to use vague categories based around broader movements within the parties.   :D

I don't quite follow you...sorry.

Dimwits don't think conservatives are compassionate, Bush Jr came up with that term he seems to think funding liberal programs, food stamps, welfare, government housing would endear him to liberals. Not going to happening because you can not spend enough on those programs to make a liberal happy

The Bush’s are two of the worst presidents in the history of America, in My opinion.

Didn't trust George Jr., Cheney, Rumsfeld, or their neo-con nation building, but their black hearts were in the right place.........some of the time.

You left out the Ring leader, The Puppetmaster, GHWB.... Junior was only a puppet.

Twelve democrats?   What kind of Forum are y’all running here?   Good grief.  I just looked in the Alfred E. Neuman book of synonyms and one of them for Democrats is - (Left Wing Pinko) Communist.

No, just three Democrats. As I explained, voters can actually select multiple categories.

Our resident liberals (Centex, Screamer, Barry) chose the Old School + Clinton + Obama Dem categories.

Greezy is the lone Socialist, but I'm pretty sure his was a trolling vote.  :D

I'm still an old school Reagan Republican, Trump has been as close to that since for a Republican President.  If he would only take speech lessons are something.  Heck, he's been in enough movies you'd think that someone would have taught him something.  Now Hollywood wouldn't even let him play a bit part again.

While i would prefer he be more polished i also see why he acts like he does.  He's being himself,  unlike the phony actors in the congress and senate.  If you've watched his speeches to congress you've seen he can be as polished and presidential as we've ever seen.  Bottom line is this is he following through on his promises?  Yes.  And on the ones he hasn't been able to he's been fighting like hell.  4 MORE YEARS!

So it’s kinda like when a Dem Votes in a national election the machines count them as 4 votes.

Gotcha, and thanks for exposing voter fraud.

PS; that Greezy likes to stir the pot.  😂
