StingEmALTO
Final Analysis: Yellowjackets move to 3-0 after 50-0 win over ND By Jay Neal [email protected] ALTO — Alto football fans didn't seem to mind that Friday's game against New Diana didn't live up to its advance billing. In what was a battle of the undefeated, the Yellowjackets crushed the Eagles, 50-0, to cap off Homecoming 2019. The Mean Sting led 29-0 at halftime, after a scoreless opening frame. Alto used a balanced offensive attack in burying the Eagles. The Jackets had 255 yards on the ground and 234 through the air. Alto quarterback Harmon West connected with Jay Pope on touchdown passes that covered 35 and 25 yards, respectively. West completed 12 of 16 attempts, tallying 213 yards, and did not throw an interception. Alto's leading receiver was Marlon Warren (6-78), with Pope hauling in three passes for 65 yards. Seven Yellowjackets were used in the rushing attack, with Vi'Dareous High leading the way with 124 yards on 19 carries. The Jacket defense was working like a well-oiled machine on Friday. Alto held New Diana to minus 74 yards rushing and piled up 19 tackles for loss. The Eagles netted 77 yards passing to finish with just three total yards in the game. Defensive standouts for the Jackets included Cayle Irvin, Kolt Dement, Foster Hall, West and Todd Duplichain. Irvin made 10 tackles, three tackles for loss, had a quarterback sack and picked off a pass. Dement pitched in 10 tackles to go along with three tackles for loss and a couple of sacks, while Hall was credited with six stops, three tackles for loss and two sacks. West also made a half dozen tackles to compliment his two tackles for loss, one sack and a pass break up. Duplichain's list of achievements included three tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, a caused fumble, a fumble recovery and a blocked punt. Alto (3-0) will put its unblemished record on the line Friday when the Mean Sting visits Garrison. https://www.jacksonvilleprogress.com/sports/final-analysis-yellowjackets-move-to---after--/article_5f4db978-d88f-11e9-8462-abb53ca38cc3.html

StingEmALTO
Area Roundup: Alto Travels to Garrison By Jay Neal [email protected] Sep 19, 2019 Alto Yellowjackets (3-0) at Garrison Bulldogs (1-1) 7:30 p.m. Friday at Bulldog Stadium in Garrison What to Watch For — A tip of the hat is in order for the Yellowjacket defense after posting its second shutout in as many weeks in the 50-0 win over New Diana last Friday evening. The Jacket offense got a lot of kids involved in the action in front of the homecoming crowd. Alto will have to avoid a let down on Friday and the Mean Sting cannot get hung up on Garrison's .500 record. Garrison outlasted Crockett (38-32) on Sept. 6 and lost by a TD to a tough San Augustine outfit last week. The Bulldogs have won the last two meetings against Alto by an average score of 42-28, so that should be all the motivation that the Yellowjackets need to give their best effort this week.
