Apollo 11 Fiftieth Anniversary of Landing

I was born and lived most of my life in Vidor, Tx.  A rather infamous town, and the subject of much negative press.   Since we’re two days away from celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, here’s a little positive old news from my hometown.  It’s on FB, so I took a screen print.  Had to cutoff the top pic, showing Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in the Mobile Quarantine Lab with John Hirasaki, an Engineer & graduate of Vidor (57 I think) & Lamar University.   He spent 21 days in Quarantine with the Apollo 11 astronauts.  I graduated with his younger sister, Ida, our class Valdictorian.

Here’s the FB link.  https://www.facebook.com/centerhistoryculture/
