Just like I do for Argyle and some of the other great programs in Texas high school football. I'm not here to bash any team......I'm all for great football from across the state. But I try to remove the "me" from my posts as much as possible and insert some information that may shed some light to others on whatever topic is being discussed. I am curious as to why Argyle has started scheduling teams from East Texas to play. That has seem to happen the last few years. I just figured y'all were like everyone else, just trying to schedule different teams to see different defensive and offensive schemes. It is always good to schedule competitive non district games, to prepare you to start district games. The team just have to have followers, start a topic, and enjoy the conversation. Of course SETX website has their own area games, I have had to go on that website to discuss playoff game against those teams. Rarely do that area's fans get on Smoaky, to chime on threads involving their team. I guess you get use to one message board and don't want to try and keep up with several conversations. It is easy to create an account, so I get on and offer my two cents when I have something to say. I read everything I possibly can on other teams but when I go to type, my fingers are so loaded with Dawg biases, that it comes out different than I envisioned would. swaha Posted October 6, 2019 Share Posted October 6, 2019 This past Friday night is what "Friday Night Lights" is to Texas footbal. It was a great atmosphere with two classy BEast Texas teams giving it their all. In the end, the better team won. Carthage has a great team top to bottom. The depth of Carthage made a huge difference in this game, along with the coaching that knows how to use those players during the game. I thought Coach Surrant did a great job of running from Landon as well as running sideline to sideline during the game. That strategy slowly wore down the the defensive line. That is not an easy task to do because PG has an incredible strength and conditioning program. In addition, I read some where that the Carthage coaching staff swapped the offensive line around during the game to better match the PG defensive line. If so, that is impressive. Finally, I hope both teams get all players healthy for the second half of the seasn. PG, especially needs two guys to get well for the long run. Good luck to the Bulldogs on the rest of the season! Note, I had the pleasure to meet the voice of the Dawgs, Larry Allen.
