This is a HUGE game for PT.

If they win.... they still have a shot at hosting a playoff game.  If they lose, that could send them on the road for the first round.

A win also keeps PT alive for a share of the district title..... a loss and that dream would be over.

I'm picking PT....but I definitely wouldn't be shocked to see Lindale win.

Selfishly.... as  a Maverick fan.... I'd like to see Lindale win.

Pine Tree has too much offense for Lindale.

Gimme the Pirates by 14.

Pine Tree's offense is BIG TIME good.
But their defense is their achilles heel.

In their three losses they have given up: 42, 64, and 50.  Even in some of their wins they have given up a lot of points.

And they are about to face 2 of the better offenses in the district with Lindale and Marshall.

Secret to beating PT IMHO  is to grind the ball out with long drives and limit their possessions.  They don't score standing on the sidelines.

A more descriptive definition of BIG TIME good shows up as the Pine Tree Offense leads 9-5A D-II by pretty much  every league statistical measure.

The Pirates average 504 ypg (273 rushing & 231 passing) and they lead in scoring at 43 ppg.

Furthermore, they have the league's Top two rusher's in Jr. QB DJ Freeman (950 yards) & Jr. RB Tyler Sheffield  (897 yards) as well as the Top passer (Freeman...1,700 yards) and Top WR Sr. Gabe Adams in YPC and Total yards (923 yards) in receptions at 23 ypc !

The interesting contrast will be the battle beteeen that Pirate Offense and the Lindale Defense which is the statistical league leader !

It looks like there will be a nice Matchup in this one at Pirate Stadium in Longview on Friday night !
