Mock East Texas 5A Division II Districts

Here is some more info on teams moving into or out of 5A Div II that could affect East Texas

Cleburne, Midlothian, and Red Oak are all projected to move up to D1.  The trouble is...  Cle and Mid are in district 5.... which is a MASSIVE 9 team district that spreads from Aledo, to Waco, to Seguin (San Antonio).  Meanwhile Red Oak is in an 8 team DISD district (District 6).

Texas High seems to be a Wildcard moving down to 5A-D2

But Kaufman is likely to drop to 4A-D1. Crandall is probably moving up to 5A-D2

Could something like this be possible?

8-5A
Texas High
Sulphur Springs
Marshall
Hallsville
Pine Tree
Lindale
Mount Pleasant
Greenville

9-5A
Nacogdoches
Whitehouse
Jacksonville
Forney
Terrell
Crandall
Ennis
Corsicana

Pretty sure that is Arlington Seguin, and they are losing another team out of that district as well...  Burleson Centennial turned in 1899 so they will be going D1 as well.

I really hope we keep them as a scrimmage opponent. I love playing them, and if we can't get them in a non-district game, a scrimmage works perfectly.

Unless I'm mistaken, outside of Texas High the above district would be a district of the cellar dwellers.    What's about Kaufman in this scenario? Also, what would be the issue in sticking

Yes that’s what I saw...saw college st and stopped reading the A&M part

That makes much more sense.

Even with Waco U that district... Seguin seemed like a reach.

But with the UIL... I’ve seen stranger things

DCTF has Kaufman at 1,189 and Crandall at 1,314

That's insane that Crandall jumped that much in one cycle!!

Crandall went from 1119 to 1314

Kaufman dropped from 1209 to 1189

8-5A
Texas High
Sulphur Springs
Marshall
Hallsville
Pine Tree
Lindale
Mount Pleasant
Greenville

9-5A
Nacogdoches
Whitehouse
Jacksonville
Forney
Terrell
Crandall
Ennis
Corsicana

So i looked and could'nt find Lindale's #, are we sure they are staying up?

If so then Kaufman and Tx High are the wild cards in this. Any chance they split Dallas Seagoville from the Dallas distirct and move them with

Kaufman

Forney

 Ennis

 Corsicana

 Crandall

Terrell

How is this not a probability? This is what I keep coming back to as well

The top two make sense.... with or without Texas High dropping.

Then again....so does that bottom one....which would eviscerate the Southern ETX 5A district. where would Jax, Nac, and WH go then?

Easier to slide The I-30 schools together.  How about this:

8-5A
Texas High
Sulphur Springs
Terrell
Forney
Royse City
Mount Pleasant
Greenville

9-5A
Nacogdoches
Whitehouse
Jacksonville
Hallsville
Marshall
Lindale
Pine tree

I say RC stays D2 to make this happen.

It would still be fun for TH. I'm sure they would be very happy if they are dropping.  Even with the travel. They are already traveling to Sherman,  mckinney, mesquite

What's about Kaufman in this scenario? Also, what would be the issue in sticking with the basketball districts currently and replicating those for football?

I'm thinking of something like the 2016 alignments?

District 17
Corsicana
Ennis
Jacksonville
Lindale
Nacogdoches
Whitehouse

District 16
Greenville
Hallsville
Longview Pine Tree
Marshall
Mount Pleasant
Sulphur Springs
Texarkana Texas

I bet TH would prefer that over going to mesquite.

I just wonder would they create that dfw district and then split the east Texas group north and south.

north

texas high

mt pleasant

ss

greenville

marshall

rc-guess it would make sense for them to stay with Terrell as well??

south

nac

wh

jax

lindale

hallsville

PT

I am

just throwing stuff out!!

Can’t see them splitting up Marshall, Hallsville, and PT.

The three of us have always been a package deal since 2002.   We have been shuffled between the North and South districts.... but always as a trio.

Always until your not!!! I am just making conversation, who knows what will happen with the UIL.

I would like to think Nac/Jax/WH are a package but wouldnt put it past them sending Nac south and keeping Lindale/Jax/WH together.  I hope not but who knows!!
