Tbh, discussing returning starters when it comes to Longview yearly is tricky because we have depth and rotate depending on situations. It's part of the reason I knew this defense would be so good despite losing players like Lister, Jacob Johnson and Javontae Wriit.

Example: Should Tyree Hale be counted as a returning starter for next year? Robert Pierce is the starter at that back safety position but has been limited. Tyree has started 4 straight weeks now and played a ton in predistrict.

To answer your question about Tyree Hale as a returning starter for next year the answer would be a "qualified"...YES !

Any player that actually has "multiple" starts should be considered as a returning starter. An example of an OL player that started only one game last year but NOT to be considered as a returning starter was Joaquin Tovar, whom got to start the State Championship game due to injury.

Hale will undoubtedly continue to get more starts as long as this season continues but getting that starting experience will benefit the 2020 Lobos on defense.

He's better in hoops...but yea ifvyou know Bobby Taylor history at Longview...he's taking that route. I believe he will be the best athlete in football basketball and track by the end of his sophomore year. He will go varsity everythg this year which is mind blowing

Kamden Perry is by far the best WR that has touched the field at LV. By far.

Now Jalen Hale has a very high ceiling. Could be the be the best overall Longview athlete since Bobby Taylor.

He's equally as good or better on the basketball court. Played in some pretty big time AAU/summer hoops over the past few years.

His brothers are 2021 defensive ballers and pops still has his spot on the UIL track records list. Good bloodlines.

Just to expand on what @gtee2 is saying.

He can go. My kid basket ball skills are still real raw because we just played baseball instead. Recently got into the AAU circuit playing with TJ Ford's Bulls. I never liked basketball because I felt if you're not 6'7 you didn't have a chance lol. This kid Hale looks really good on the court and he's 6'2 already. Good looking kid

This must be the calm before the storm 😂. It's quiet.

Hale plays for TJ Ford too. lol this was him going into his 8th grade year.

Camps alot in football too....just an overall hard worker. Coach King has said he's probably the most mature player at that age he has coached.

Gametyme got a question, from your perspective what do you  anticipate will be the biggest challenge for temple to overcome  to pull the upset? What do you feel that can do offensively that will work against our defense, and lastly what do you feel like the struggle with the most  defensively ?

He only one to pick  Temple in a blowout . I believe he wearing his purple glasses on a sipping a few when he posts. His perception might be a little off.

What they can do offensively is possible control the clock and tempo with their offensive line. Temple has 3 kids in their 3rd year starting up front. #1 WR Quienten Johnston is a 6'4-6'5 Texas commit that has to be accounted for.Temple may be able to force some other favorable match-ups if Longview doubles him. Both RB's are talented and the QB is extremely dangerous in open field running. Their only real weakness is the QB throwing it. He's had some bad throws and poor decisions mostly in the two looses. Temple biggest challenge is the Longview offense. The defense has really talented kids but they're really young. At the end of the day they're 14 and 15 and that can be problematic going against a defending state champs with a seasoned QB. It's going to take turnovers to pull off the upset at the end of the day because they won't stop Longview like that. Players to watch on defense #17 CB Roman Jackson has 7 interceptions and was the only returning starter. #21 Freshman LB Taurean York leads the team in tackles. Highly intelligent will be a huge recruit one day. #7 Freshman FS Mikal Harrison-Pilot is 4th in tackles and has 2 sacks 2 forced fumbles and 1 interception on the season. He's a thumper with good ball skills. Will be interesting to see how he does on the PA fake and deep shots down field. All in all Temple has a chance but they going to need a little help.

TJ Ford has a couple of teams. I'm sure they know each other almost positive. I'll have to ask him. Small world lol
