Longview dominated co-champion Temple, Rockwall blew out Harker Heights, Mesquite had the biggest score differential of the night over Shoemaker and while Lee's 35-7 loss looks bad, they were only down 14-7 late in the third quarter before things crumbled away. I know Stewart didn't want to do it but I would had went ahead and put the kid out there. I know he's just a freshman but his passing ability it light years a head of anyone they have on the team. I was proud of him. He played solid all night. Was able to get Meridith down by himself fairly easy one play when Meridith was running through everyone else tackles on the team. He played his assignments perfect. No passes completed on him. He was also responsible for King on the read option pull several times and stayed home and forced the handoff. Yes I was completely wrong. I knew Heights was in trouble but I figured Shoemaker had a shot. This Lufkin lose is what is tough this morning. This is OT and basically the final drive of the game if you don’t score. This man ran a trick play from the wildcat against a team sending basically 9 players on a key 3rd down. Anyone that has been to the games this season know how Key Polk was to the offense.
