Carthage vs Athens in Jacksonville

May be apples and oranges here but .... Crandall scores 50+ on Athens ... Crandall scores 0 vs CH ... Red Dawgs stop at 40 vs CH ... not a good sign.

Athens ... be thankful it's Carthage and not Argyle.

If it were, they would see to it that there weren't enough lights on the Tomato Bowl scoreboard to handle it.

(Argyle 59 or more the last two years: 14;  Carthage 59 or more the last two years: 2)

May everyone travel safely to the Mater Bowl ... and may all kids be safe on the turf.

Fair winds to both teams ...

Athens does have a nice D1 OL recruit named Garrett Hayes.  Actually he is the #12 ranked recruit in Texas at all positions by 247.   Interested to see how he handles the Carthage DL.

He can't block but one guy per play....maybe two...

Look him up and watch the highlight film on him.  He’s solid and plays until the whistle.  Sometimes after the whistle.  Has a hot motor.  Also blocks the front line on KO return and can run well for a 300 lb kid.  But your right he can only do so much.

Tomato Bowl is one of the premier facilities in East Texas now with the massive renovation.  Absolutely incredible turnaround.

But the parking is still on par for a 2A school.  Get there early unless you want to walk!
