The Pine Tree Pirates travel to College Station to face off with the A&M Consolidated Tigers on Friday at 7:30pm.

It's going to be the Pirates (5-5) high powered offense going up the Tigers (10-0) outstanding defense !

I'll have more about this matchup during the upcoming week !

While this game would appear to be a foregone conclusive Bi-District "mismatch" the Pine Tree Offense could very well make it interesting...at the very least.

For you see...the Tigers are very good defensively BUT they haven't faced an offense that has "averaged" anywhere in the same "area code" in terms  of Offensive numbers OR has the arsenal that the Pirates will bring into this week's game.

Pine Tree averages just a shade under 500 yards per game (275 rushing & 223 passing) has two 1,000 yard rushers in QB D.J. Freeman and RB Tyler Sheffield both are Junior's plus Freeman is a 2,000 yard passer as well.

Additionally, PT has a 1,000 yard receiver in Senior Gabe Adams & his 22 ypc. along with J.J. Sparkman's 600 yards receiving even after missing the first half of this season due to injury.

After a closer look into the District 10-5A D-II teams stats only one of Consolidated's District mates even averages anywhere close to the Tigers 400 yards per game average (182 rushing & 220 passing) and that's Katy Paetow.

Of course, that "could" mean it's a decent defensive District but those stats aren't exactly great...by any of them because Consolidated was clearly the dominant overall squad.

Yes...the Tigers should win this one BUT IF the same PT team that showed up in Marshall comes out then it may be an entertaining game.

We shall see at Tigerland Stadium on Friday night.

Love your optismism. Definitely pulling for you guys but this will be a difficult task. Defensively the Pirates will have to step it up. Offensively they can hang with anyone. I am glad seeing Pine Tree competitive.
