Argyle hears the same thing. People see a winning program and just assume that any coach can step in and have the same results.

You don’t have this kind of consistency with poor coaching.

Sportsfanatic1
Rogers is an excellent coach! What he's done as an AD is even more impressive. Argyle racks up Lone Star cups like no other. VERY VERY impressive!

Eaglesone
Argyle had more rushing yards in Game 1 this year than they had in both games combined last year. When they played in the freezing monsoon in last year quarterfinals Argyle had 70 yards rushing and couldn't pass in the rain.

That is not so since Rhoades left after the 2015 season. This existing staff here now is just winning enough to save their jobs every year. You as a head coach needs to have discipline, a good staff (not your old buddies) and know how to use your talent to the best of their ability. That goes for all your atheletics your school supports. That's why it's so impressive when your school wins the Lone Star Cup.

Other than the last state championship team, we've had teams more talented than some of the other state teams. 1991 was WAY more talented than almost any CHS team in history. The 2017 team was way up there in pure talent, it may have been the best, 1991 was unbelievable too. 2008, whew! 2010 and 2013 were deceptively athletic. 2013 had a few receivers well over 6’2” and one of them was 6’6” and all those receivers could run, including Rutherford (at 6’6”). However, there are many Bulldogs teams from the past who had more talent than the ‘09, ‘10, ‘13 and ‘16 state championship teams had. The current coach makes a huge difference just like Rodgers does for Argyle. I am picking Argyle by 3 points in a toss up game with LV.
