The Offical 2020 Dallas Cowboys Offseason Thread

Stoney

Recommended Posts

Shoulda started this a few weeks back on Thanksgiving but I didn’t.

Dallas Needs This Offseason

1. Figure Out Who The New Head Coach Is

2. Figure Out What Players Are Worth Paying And Who Needs To Go

3. Find Some Leaders For This Roster

Without #3 whoever #1 turns out to be doesn’t have a snowballs shot in Hell of having success in Dallas. As far as #2, there’s some dead weight that needs to leave this team.

I would fire Garrett tonight.  If he's coaching in the NFL next year I don't know what capacity I would hire him at as an owner or Head Coach.  We need help in the secondary bad.  If you can't cover a bunch of no name receivers you don't need to be in the league.  Greg Ward was the only name I heard of, and that was because he played at JT and Houston as a quarterback.  Zach Ertz wasn't even a factor.  Amari is a decent receiver, but he's not a top 10 receiver.  Gallup is a solid #2 and that should take some coverage off him, and the ground game should open up the passing attack.  I wouldn't pay him more than he's making now.  Jaylon Smith is overpaid.  Marcus Peters is the only free agent corner I would look at.  There's not a single Safety that is available.  They are our biggest weakness behind Jason Garrett.  It's a disappointing year, but I saw it coming.  It wouldn't bother me a bit if we lost to the Redskins at home.

This team needs to look hard at how it evaluates talent. You can’t play with JAGs at safety who can’t help your corners. You can’t spend money on your defensive ends and neglect your defensive tackles. If you can’t stop the run and you can’t stop the pass, you are hosed.

You look at the guys Dallas could bring back or let walk and you see a huge mix of talent. There’s old veterans holding back young talent. There’s backups that are being asked to start. There’s young talent that’s not maximizing their talent. There’s pieces that are easily replaceable by cheaper young talent.

Your big 3 in house contracts are:

Dak Prescott- are you paying him or tagging him?

Amari Cooper- see Dak Prescott

Byron Jones- CB1 but can you pay him if you pay the guys above?

Your middle tier in house contracts

Robert Quinn- nice bookend opposite Tank, is the price worth what he may have left in the “tank”

Randall Cobb- signed a Cowboys friendly deal but will he want to get paid before his career ends?

Maliek Collins- the best pass rush at DT but what’s his asking price going to be?

How fast do you think the firing or rehiring gets done on Sunday? Before the boos quit from the hometown fans?

No truer statement.  Witten should have stayed with ESPN!

I like the kid. A whole season of seeing what he could do as TE1 woulda been nice.

If he resigns him I'm boycotting watching the Cowboys until he's gone. I'll keep up with them, but won't watch the mess he puts out on the field.

Heck, I thought all of  Doomer's families electronic equipment had been destroyed after yesterday.

I think he snuck inside Jerruh World and hog tied the Clapper and threw him in a closet and they filmed him during the post game show because they couldn't find the Clapper ...

Yep. There's a wwwwwwwholeeeeeeeee lot of of old Doomy in that boy there. Jerrah could do a lot worse than that man to give Sunday's pregame pep talk. #TrueStorie.tm

No they won't...y'all are brainwashed minions.....😂😂😂😂

You don't see me rioting in the streets because Trump is under impeachment.  I'll just quit watching, and not buying any merchandise.  I'm done with the Cowboys until Garrett is gone.  He's had two decent seasons, and is only 2-3 in the playoffs .  That is not worth of being an NFL Head Coach.
