Sherman ended up losing 41-23.

My thoughts on Sherman:

Their #8 receiver was all over the field in the first half. But right from the get go, you could see Sherman's offensive line was horrendous. That poor #4 QB was running for his life literally all night long. Some of the hits he took were vicious. Couple that with he refused to slide when he was actually able to get away. There's no way the dude makes it through the season if he continues to play like that. Sherman was in 3rd and long on both of their touchdown drives. After they completed them, it felt like they were able to build off the momentum and go in for the scores.

Once Sherman threw the pick six, it was literally game over. Denison just controlled the ball the entire rest of the way. It never felt like the Cats had a chance to pull out the win, especially after the Jackets took the two score led in the third quarter.

Obviously haven't seen a ton of Sherman, West Mesquite and Wylie East over the years, but watching tonight..and knowing Tyler and seeing their score against the Tigers, I think it's pretty clear that top three in the district are Highland Park, Longview and McKinney North.

That fourth place is COMPLETELY wide open for any of the 'bottom' four to grab.

Looking forward to seeing how the district does tonight.

McKinney North only one that can still be undefeated after tonight.

I'm expecting Longview to bounce back, hopefully Tyler will be competitive. Sherman has to win tonight, I feel like. West/Poteet should be a good one. If Wylie East competes I'll be completely shocked.

We haven't heard a peep out of the Highland Park camp the last couple of weeks.

Sherman getting beat mount pleasant is on the wow factor.

Absolutely agree. But they don’t have an offensive line. Like at all. I am genuinely terrified what our defensive line is going to do to their quarterback after watching them against Denison.

I think that Wylie East scoreline is a massive wow too. Just makes me wonder how bad Irving Nimitz is this season.

Highland Park and Longview should be top 2.

McKinney North showing the still have absolutely no defense, but they seem strong enough for third.

Fourth is completely wide open, like completely.

I think Tyler showed they are the third best team in the district even with the 4 int Tyler still had a real chance to win the game. Tyler’s defense played really well for 4 quarters against a team in most people’s eyes we had no chance to be close with, we made a big stride from week 1 to week 2 and I think we will win our next two games against horn and Nac and finish 2-2 before district and will be happy about that cause I think we shown we have enough to beat Nac and Mesquite horn simply got beat down by Permian 51-10. Honestly I’m not fan of Holmes but this was probably one the best gameplay/coached games of his career. Only if he would gameplan this every game

TOTALLY AGREE! This team is steadily getting better game by game. Tyler high will get their first win next week against Nac imo. Mesquite Horn looks winnable as well. If Tyler high wins the next 2 they will start rolling.
