If the woman decides to keep a baby that the man doesn't want, why is he forced (by law) to pay for it? Shouldn't he be able to "choose" not to? It's a theoretical question, of course. But in the end, it is not the male that has to carry the child for 9 months.Ā I don't know what the solution is, at least not until the Supreme Court decides when "life begins". Conception? Heartbeat? Birthday?Ā We only celebrate one of those things, and that is why many take it to far. While I argue for choice, I will say that I would prefer a ruling that says life begins at the heartbeat. But until then, we just have to live with what the courts have given us. If you choose to buy a house you can't afford, then that is your choice, and the bank will take it from you. If you choose to have an abortion, that is your decision, just DO NOT expect the taxpayers to pay for it.
