Is there an end in sight?

Recommended Posts

I believe the CDC, the WHO, and other disease experts around the world.

They are all saying the same thing.

Those numbers have gone up just in the past hour. And they’ll continue to rise as more test are made available.

They are still very low numbers even when I checked today.  If the death percentage was much higher than what has been reported across the world then I would say we need the measures that are happening.  I guarantee if this virus would have happened 40 years ago we would not be going with these extreme of measures.  Even in 1918 they didn't shut down sports except in Europe because of WW I, but not over the Spanish Influenza.  I think with the temperatures going up that it should help end it sooner than many think.  It may not be that way in the Northeast, because they are still having snow storms, and probably why New York state is being hit so hard.  I still haven't heard of anyone I know or that they know having come down with this virus.

129 more people have died so far today, putting the total number at 637. The first death was 25 days ago. And those are the ones we know about, becausse those people have been tested.

There are roughly 30 million people in Texas. As of today, 13,235 have been tested.

130 deaths to 600 in just a week isn’t alarming?

Mathematically (and from the point of epidemiology) that is very worrisome.

Millions died from the Spanish flu.  Is that what we need to cause alarm??

React AFTER the fact instead of before it becomes a historical loss of life?

No tears over 600.  How about 1200?  12,000?  120,000?   When does the concern start?

Ain't that the truth.

The numbers are increasing exponentially.    It is not 50 or 100 more a day.  New York's health system is about a week from being overrun.  It is gonna spread throughout the whole country. This is bigger than some people seem to want to admit

As a golfer, I usually enjoy the 75 to 85 degree days in April and May(even though I play year round)........But 95 degrees can’t get here fast enough this year - in hopes the heat slows or even stops the spread.

I fail to see the correlations.

Car crashes, opiates, and metabolic diseases aren’t contagious.  You can’t catch them by simply sharing a space with someone that has them.   You don’t get any of those because you touched a surface an infected person did.  You don’t inhale any of those conditions.

You CAN help prevent diabetes by controlling your blood pressure, eating right, exercising.

You CAN help prevent opiate abuse by correcting what’s causing the pain (surgery, rehab, homeopathic treatments).

Not even going to mention the car crashes as that’s not even a medical condition.  But yes... there are ways to reduce those too

What credentials do you have to decide what’s an overreaction?   Med school?  Statistician?  Epidemiologist?  Or because you read it on Briebart, Rush Limbaugh said so, or perhaps Fox?

This isn’t an American problem.   It’s a worldwide problem that is eliciting a similar response worldwide.  Americans aren’t being asked to do anything outrageous that other countries are asking of their citizens.

Exactly what sinister agenda do you think virologists, epidemic specialists, and other doctors aground they world have other than to prevent further infection?  What’s so meanacing about that?

Do you think any of those International disease experts care what political posturing is currently happening in the US????  Ridiculous

Its still accelerating.  We were at 130 deaths a week ago. 600 this week.  How many have to die before we take this seriously, pray tell?

What number Of deaths in your Christian view is OK before we inconvenience life in any way?  10,000?  100,000?  1,000,000?

What’s the golden number for your compassion to kick in?  Your concern?  Raise an eyebrow?  I’m curious to know.

I’m willing to bet it’s 1 more death than we have now if that 1 was your spouse, parent, child, family member, friend, neighbor.

Then again.... probably not.

I apologize if I struck a nerve. I can tell you are very passionate about this and I respect everyone caring about their fellow man.

I guess if I'm required to list credentials, then yes medical school would be on my list.  But that said I don't claim to know as much as any of the "experts" you listed.

My correlation between the crashes, opiods, and metabolic diseases would be that many things kill a higher percentage of folks than this virus.

The flu, colds, and stomach viruses kill many more people if I need to only list contagious killers.

Never claimed this was an American problem.

I don't listen to Rush, watch very little news certainly not Fox, and I don't know who or what Briebart is.

I do not think the virus response or those involved has anything to do with political agendas. I do not believe any of the "experts" weighing in on the CV-19 have an agenda at all. I do believe they have a normal human response of fearing the unknown.

Yes it is still accelerating in overall cases, but the morality rates are dropping.

In my Christian view 1 more death would be tragic, but not unexpected.

Raising an eyebrow or caring if people die, it my compassion kidding in is all together different from being chicken little about it.

While it would be tragic for anyone close to me to die from the virus, the numbers and facts say the odds of that happening are no greater than it happening from any other of life's tragidies. And your right, it probably wouldn't change my outlook on this overreaction.

Seeing you air quote “experts” was all I needed to read from you.

If you can’t respect the expert warnings of virologists and epidemiologists that know more about how this thing spreads and grows (and mutates) than you can ever imagine.....then anyone else is clearly just noise to you.

They have decades of study, treatment, and research to come up with these warnings and steps to take.

But no.....opinions of average Joe Bob high school graduate are more important to heed.

I hope your posts age well and mine don’t.  I really do.  For all our sake.

But I have a feeling in the coming months you may be face-palming over your profound shortsightedness.

Just another little update....

Last week the USA death toll was 135.
Up to 705.
Has increased 70 just in 5-6 hours.

But no big deal, eh?

New York:

Gov Cuomo projects that the state would soon require up to 140,000 hospital beds when only about 53,000 were now available for use. He also said that doctors could ultimately need as many as 30,000 ventilators when only a fraction of that number — somewhere around 5,000 — were currently available.

Those eye-popping numbers aren’t going to be special to NY. They will be that way in multiple places.

But no big deal, eh?

Read what’s happening in New Orleans. It’s a mess.

Los Angeles.  San Francisco. Seattle. Where they are still waiting on the surge in spite of already being overwhelmed.

Sorry if the quotation marks (not air quotes) bothered you. I assumed we could all agree that the virologists and epidemiologists would fall into that category.

I can respect their fears, but I can also look at the math. Regardless of the hospital bed numbers you choose to quote, the morality rates don't change.

So they they have decades of study in this brand new virus?

Not the opinions of this Joe Bob HS grad, just the"experts" own numbers.

I understand people are scared, but it doesn't change the fact that the morality rates are less than illnesses that have been here for our lifetime.

This is  for all of you people who insist Corona is nothing because it isn't killing very many people yet.

If US Corona deaths continue to increase at their current rate, here are some other causes of death that Corona will exceed, plus some in the recent past:

March 10: On this date, Coronavirus killed more people than dogs bites.
March 13: On this date, Coronavirus killed more people than lightning strikes did.
March 16: Corona killed more people than all insect bites/stings/allergic reactions combined.
March 19: Corona kills more people than electrocutions.
March 22: Corona will have killed more people this year than accidental gunshots.
>(You are here)
March 25: Corona will have killed more people than all pregnancy and childbirth complications combined.
March 28: On this date, Corona will have killed more people than all gun-related homicides, other than gang violence.
March 31: Corona kills more people than cervical cancer.
April 3: At this point it has killed more people in 2020 than obesity will.
April 6: More Corona death victims than all human caused homicide victims combined.
April 9: Corona just barely beats out hypertension and hypertensive renal disease (high blood pressure).
April 12: Corona finally surpasses all combined cases of flu, cold, and pneumonia.
April 15: Trump re-opens the U.S. and tells everyone to fill churches. Corona kills more old people than Alzheimer’s disease.
April 18: Corona kills more American citizens than all accidents combined, including falls, car crashes, work accident, and drug related accidents.
April 21: Corona kills roughly as many people as all forms of cancer combined.
April 24: This is roughly the middle of the CDC expected ranges. Corona kills more people than all causes of death combined except for the top 5.
April 27: CDC's worst case scenario. Corona kills more people than all other causes of death in the U.S. totaled.

It's called exponential growth.

135 deaths last week. 705 today. That’s about a 500% jump.

At that rate you’re looking at 3500 next week. Almost 18,000 in two weeks.

At what point are we no longer overreacting?

I bet nobody will watch this. It was labeled as fake news within a week on Fb and had zero recommended view hits on YT. Meaning the views were from people sharing it.

Its crazy that when I watch a video now on YT about this topic, it's next recommended video automatically switches to a mainstream news outlet coverage. Instead of what normally would come on as my next recommended video. They really want me watching THEIR coverage only for some reason. This just started occurring in last couple months.

We are losing our freedom in the name of security. I've learned that most people are going to be blind to this and accept it. But I advise doing your own research sometimes instead of always trusting your government run "authorities". As currupt as they are, when an event occurs, we automatically go back to trusting them and thinking they care about us. PROBLEM, REACTION, SOLUTION(pre-determined).

You won't believe this now, but you will see within the next year what's really going on. Will this clear? Probably, but it will come with a new world and new rules.

Another one that's interesting.

I wouldn’t always believe the WHO. They regurgitated some info from China at the beginning that said there wasn’t any person to person transmission. Main thing that kinda shocked me was the 33 yr old Dr. li wenlaing (one of the first to warn others and was reprimanded because of it) died from ARDS caused by the virus he got from a patient of his. He was an eye doctor.

Once again. Trusting national sources. I don't think what's going on in America is 5g yet. It's totally different symptoms than what was getting leaked from China at first. People were fine, then falling over collapsing and dying. Americans don't need to get hit with these frequencies  yet because the propaganda machine is so strong here and everyone is watching the mainstream news and doing what their told. Even the celeb influencers are doing their part.

Correct.

When it kills more than 61,000 Americans then we can say that it is slightly worse than the'17-18 Flu season.
