Stoney
1.17 positions of need: WR, Edge, IDL, CB, S best option at: WR- Denzel Mims Baylor online visit 1/2 grade Edge- K’Lavon Chaisson LSU online visit 1 grade IDL- Javon Kinlaw South Carolina combine visit 1 grade CB- CJ Henderson Florida online/Combine visit 1 grade S- Xavier McKinney Alabama 2 grade Pick 1.17 is too high for Mims and McKinney. So we’ll pass. Henderson would be the pick if he falls here. Atlanta has the same needs at pick 16. I just can’t see him being there. So it comes down to Kinlaw or Chaisson. Kinlaw has some hip and knee issues. Chaisson is boom or bust. I’m higher on the interior defensive line position later in the draft than I am the edge. Pick- K’Lavon Chaisson Edge LSU 2.51 positions of need: WR, IDL, CB, S, LB best option at: WR- Michael Pittman USC Combine visit 2 grade IDL- Justin Madubuike Texas A&M online visit 2 grade CB- Damon Arnette Ohio State 2/3 grade S- Grant Delpit LSU online visit 2 grade LB- Zack Baun Wisconsin online visit 1/2 grade Pick 2.51 might be the toughest. Arnette isn’t my favorite CB but he’s probably the most likely to be here. Zack Baun is the highest grade but with Chaisson being the pick earlier, I can’t see Baun who could play a similar role but at a different position. Madubuike is a personal favorite who could be the replacement for McCoy and be what Trysten Hill coulda been. Michael Pittman would be a fun addition to the offense but isn’t exactly a slot reciever. Grant Delpit could slip this far because of his tackling issues. Pick- Michael Pittman WR USC 3.82 positions of need- IDL, CB, S, LB, WR best option at: IDL- James Lynch Baylor Combine visit 3 grade CB- Amik Robertson Louisiana Tech 3 grade S- Terrell Burgess Utah 3 grade LB- Logan Wilson Wyoming 3 grade WR- KJ Hill Ohio State 3 grade Pick 3.82 has some interesting choices. Amik Robertson is an undersized turnover creator. James Lynch is a late bloomer who could be a rotation piece at 3T. Logan Wilson can play Mike/Sam and be the replacement for Sean Lee. KJ Hill is a pure slot reciever and could fill Randall Cobb’s spot. Terrell Burgess can play safety and cover slot. Pick- Terrell Burgess S Utah 4.123 positions of need: IDL, CB, LB, WR, OT IDL- Leki Fotu Utah 3/4 grade CB- Reggie Robinson Tulsa 3/4 grade LB- Troy Dye Oregon 4/5 grade WR- James Proche SMU 4 grade OT- Saahdiq Charles LSU 4 grade Pick 4.123 has a couple sneaky positions of need. Saahdiq Charles could be the swing tackle/ future replacement for Tyron Smith. Troy Dye could upgrade the linebacking crew. James Proche is a local kid with great hands but average everything else. Reggie Robinson is a corner with some interesting tools. Leki Fotu is a huge plug up the middle run stopper. Pick- Reggie Robinson CB Tulsa 5.164 positions of need: IDL, LB, WR, OT, OG IDL- Broderick Washington Texas Tech Combine visit 5 grade LB- Jacob Phillips LSU 5 grade WR- Jauan Jennings Tennessee 5 grade OT- Jack Driscoll Auburn 5 grade OG- Logan Sternberg Kentucky 5 grade Pick 5.164 has us looking for role players. Broderick Washington is fat guy who can be a rotation piece on the interior. Jauan Jennings could be a big slot. Jack Driscoll is more of a RT than a swing tackle. Jacob Phillips is another Mike/Sam backup upgrade. Logan Sternberg could compete at LG, allowing Connor Williams to be the swing tackle or takeover center from Connor McGovern. Pick- Logan Sternberg G Kentucky 5.179 positions of need: IDL, LB, WR, OT, QB see 5.164 except for QB- James Morgan FIU online visit 5 grade pick 5.179 could have James Morgan come in to compete for the QB2 job. A 5th rounder who could potentially turn into something more. Pick- James Morgan QB FIU 7.231 positons of need: best player available P- Braden Mann Texas A&M 5 grade G- Cordel Iwuagwu TCU online visit 7 grade LB- Shaquille Quartermain Miami(FL) 6 grade pick 7.231 is basically the best player with a skill that can help your team. Stoney
@KirtFalcon any interest in dealing down from 1.17 for a lower round 1st rounder and picking up a extra 2nd or 3rd rounder and then turning that 1st rounder into Jamal Adams?
KirtFalcon
I don't know enough about him. I would possibly trade up, if necessary, for Jalen Hurts ... long term, I think he is a better option than Prescott. .... He's more of a game manager that elite QB ... Hurts would add another dimension like a Russell Wilson .... If Jerruh coughs up elite QB money for Prescott he's insane .... I would go after either a top WRA or CB with their first pick .... then Hurts would be a top priority in the second round ....
cotton84
Dak versus Hurts for the same money......Dak for at least the next 3 years Dak for $35,000,000 or Hurts for $5,000,000........Hurts all day long.

I think Jurruh hanging the franchise tag on Prescott instead of giving in to him and his long term big $$$$ demands might just hint that he isn't all that sold on him at this point. If Jerruh pulls the trigger and makes a move to get Hurts, I think all bets are off on Prescott after this coming season ....

All that matters is the guaranteed portion Doesn't mean I think Dak is a superstar. But I believe he is a top 10 QB and that is about the average anybody is gonna pay right now for that position.
Stoney
Let’s play devils advocate here. Dak Prescott isn’t worth $35m. Jerry Jones trades or let’s Dak walk. Dallas drafts Jalen Hurts outside of the first round like they did Dak. 4 years down the road Jalen’s done with his rookie contract and wants an extension. Jalen’s career has been the same as Dak’s time in Dallas. Jalen is asking for $35m. Are you paying Jalen Hurts?

I don't think that's very realistic ... their styles are completely different, Hurts is more of a dual threat than Prescott, so I don't think realistically their progression after 4 years would be similar .... to answer your question, only if he has developed into an elite QB ... otherwise you pay him what he's worth and keep looking to improve .... no different than what they should do with Prescott .... I do think there are better QBs to be had through the draft than Prescott .... I don't think Hurts will be there in the second round where the Cowboys pick, if Jerruh wants him, he's probably going to have to trade up in the second round to get him .... MeanGreenDogs64
@Stoney. Nice work with the draft content. 1. Chaisson if he is there. Henderson will be gone to early. However, if both are gone I could see Jerry trading back. 2. We have to get a corner early (1st or 2nd). Next year our only corner under contract is Anthony Brown. 3. Dallas seems to always target WRs in the 3rd rounds. Terrence Williams and Michael Gallup come to mind as of late. I could see us picking one in the 3red. I can't wait for tonight. This is the only sports related thing we have had in over a month.

You can only put 11 players on the field at a time ... better get the best ones when you have the chance or you will be playing against them on Sundays ... more is not always better .... get the best or someone else will .... This is the only sports related thing we have had in over a month. This is my favorite time of the year. 3 days of roster building. It’d take a strong o-line rush, 3 QBs but 4 would be better, the WRs and then the rest to get Henderson even close to Dallas. I think it’s Chaisson at 17 unless he’s gone. The Jamal Adams trade for 17 is probably a pipe dream. If Dallas traded down from 17, they should have their pick of the second tier corners at a price that is more their value than at 17.

Stoney
Cowboys have had 24 picks over the last 3 years. I’ve picked 4 right( Leighton Vander Esch, Michael Gallup, Trysten Hill, Reggie Robinson) and 3 in the right spot (LVE, Gallup, Robinson). I’m happy with a 16.7% accuracy rate.
