So you can conclusively say the Jax TD was good via replay but can’t do the same to debunk the targeting play????

Thats pretty astonishing team-colored vision.

The fact that the officiating was horrendous is about the only thing we agree on. Which is ironic.

Best of of luck this week.

No, I didn’t say that.... they reversed it, so it wasn’t targeting. I thought you could tell that is what I was saying. Guess not, LOL!

District 8-5A DIV II

ZONE A
Ennis (1-0)(4-0)
Crandall (1-0) (4-1)
Royse City (0-1) (2-2)
Forney (0-1) (0-7)

ZONE B
North Forney (1-0) (5-0)
Greenville (1-0) (3-1)
Corsicana (0-1) (2-4)
Sulphur Springs (0-1) (0-3)

Everything basically started over for the district because of so many missed games.  They moved to zone play.  Each team will play 3 zone games.  Seeding games will be the winner of Zone A playing the winner of Zone B for the district’s No. 1 and No. 2 playoff berths and the second-place teams from each zone playing for the No. 3 and No. 4 playoff berths. If either of those zoned seeding games end up being matchups between two schools that have already played, then the score of their already completed game would determine playoff spots and they wouldn’t play the seeding game.

Ennis and Crandall flexed their way to the top of Zone A, putting Forney and RC on notice.  Another loss would greatly hinder their chances of advancing to the crossover games.

North Forney and Greenville sit atop Zone B.... putting Corsicana and SS behind the eight ball.

District 9-5A DIV II
Texas High (5-0) (2-0)
Whitehouse (5-0) (2-0)
Pine Tree (4-0-1) (2-0)
Marshall (3-2) (1-1)
Jacksonville (1-4) (1-1)
Mount Pleasant (2-3) (0-2)
Nacogdoches (1-3) (0-2)
Hallsville (0-4) (0-2)

No upsets in the second week of district play, which kept three teams undefeated at the top of the district.  This is setting up some big games in the coming weeks.  Texarkana, WH, and PT are a combined (14-0-1).  Marshall got in the win column with a win over Jacksonville.  MP, Nac, and Hallsville are in early holes for the playoff race.

District 7-5A DIV I
Longview (5-1) (2-0)
Highland Park (3-0) (1-0)
McKinney North (2-3) (2-0)
Sherman (2-5) (1-1)
Tyler (0-4) (0-1)
Wylie East (1-3) (0-2)
West Mesquite (0-6) (0-2)

Highland Park and Longview will finally settle district supremacy this week.  McKinney North seems to have found a bit of a groove.  Sherman holding on to the final playoff slot thus far.  Tyler is in desperation mode to stay in the playoff race.

District 8-5A DIV I
Magnolia (5-1) (4-0)
Magnolia West (5-1) (3-0)

New Caney (2-3) (1-2)
Porter (3-3) (1-3)
Cleveland (1-4) (0-3)
Caney Creek (0-5) (0-3)

Magnolia and Magnolia West continue to set up a monster battle for the district championship.   However, College Station may have something to say about that.  Lufkin continues their creep back up the standings.  The race for 3rd and 4th places could get very cloudy with as many as 4 teams battling it out.  Stay tuned.

Magnolia beat Waller 42-7
College Station beat Lufkin 45-21
New Caney beat Cleveland 48-40

---------------

District 8-5A DIV II

ZONE A
Ennis (2-0)(5-0)
Crandall (1-1) (4-2)
Royse City (1-1) (3-2)
Forney (0-2) (0-8)

ZONE B
North Forney (2-0) (6-0)
Greenville (1-1) (3-2)
Sulphur Springs (1-1) (1-3)
Corsicana (0-2) (2-5)

Ennis and North Forney appear to be on a collision course for the district championship as both are steamrolling their opponents thus far.  Meanwhile..... the battle for the remaining two playoff slots will be a fierce battle between Crandall and Royse CIty and Greenville and Sulphur Springs.  Forney and Corsicana are all but eliminated from the playoff chase.

District 9-5A DIV II
Texas High (6-0) (3-0)
Whitehouse (6-0) (3-0)
Pine Tree (5-0-1) (3-0)
Marshall (3-3) (1-2)
Nacogdoches (2-3) (1-2)
Jacksonville (1-5) (1-2)
Mount Pleasant (2-4) (0-3)
Hallsville (0-5) (0-3)

This may be one of the most entertaining district races in the state with three undefeated teams at the top of the standings with 4 weeks remaining in the season.  PT, WH, and TxH are a combined (17-0-1).  Not to mention there is a three way tie for fourth place with Marshall, Jax, and Nac.  MP and Hallsville haven't been mathematically eliminated, but they are on the verge of being out of the race.

District 7-5A DIV I
McKinney North (3-3) (3-0)
Highland Park (4-0) (2-0)
Longview (5-2) (2-1)
Sherman (2-5) (1-1)
Tyler (1-4) (1-1)
Wylie East (1-4) (0-3)
West Mesquite (0-7) (0-3)

Highland Park's win over Longview gives the Scots the inside track to the district championship.  McKinney North is currently at the top of the standings, likely temporarily as they still have Longview and HP on their schedule.  Tyler kept their playoffs alive with a win over WM and Sherman is in the race for fourth place as well.

District 8-5A DIV I
Magnolia (6-1) (5-0)
Magnolia West (5-1) (4-0)
College Station (5-1) (3-1)
Waller (2-4) (2-2)
New Caney (3-3) (2-2)
Lufkin (3-4) (2-3)
Porter (4-3) (2-3)
Cleveland (1-6) (0-5)
Caney Creek (0-6) (0-4)

The race to the district championship in this district is shaping up to be a BIG one with Magnolia, West, and College Station all at the top.  Waller and New Caney are battling it out for the fourth slot, and Lufkin is on the verge of elimination from the playoff chase.

------------------

Week 7 Games:
Magnolia Vs. Magnolia West
College Station Vs. Cleveland
New Caney Vs. Caney Creek
Porter Vs. Waller
Lufkin- OFF

Magnolia Vs. Magnolia West is the game of the week..... with the winner taking sole possession of first place.  College Station will likely pull into a tie for second place with the loser of that game with a win over Cleveland.  New Caney can take another step towards a playoff slot with a win over their cross-town rival.  Porter looking to move up in the standings as well with Lufkin idle.

---
Sulphur Springs Vs. Greenville
Crandall Vs. Royse City
Forney Vs. Ennis
North Forney Vs. Corsicana

Two games this week will decide the playoff picture for the district.

The winner of the Sulphur Springs Vs. Greenville game will secure a crossover game Vs the winner of the Crandall Vs. RC game.  The losers of those two games will be eliminated from the playoff chase.

Meanwhile Ennis and NF have already clinched their spots, but need wins to set up a district championship showdown crossover game.

---
Pine Tree Vs. Texas High
Marshall Vs. Whitehouse
Hallsville Vs. Mt. Pleasant
Jacksonville Vs. Nacogdoches

Pine Tree Vs. Texas High is the game of the week with the winner remaining in first place, while the loser will fall into second place.  Whitehouse and Marshall will tangle in a huge game as the Wildcats want to remain tied with the winner of the PT/THS game.  Marshall needs a win to keep an edge over Nac and Jacksonville in the standings.  The Indians and the Dragons have an intriguing game.... the winner staying in the race, while the loser will find themselves in a bind.  Hallsville and MP are desperate for wins.

---

McKinney North Vs. Highland Park
Longview Vs. Sherman
Tyler Vs. Wylie East
West Mesquite- OFF

HP will be looking to take sole possession of first place with a win over McNorth.  Longview will be looking to keep pace with the Scots as they face Sherman.  Tyler looking to keep their playoff hopes alive Vs. a struggling Wylie East.

What are your thoughts on NF? We could end up playing them in the 2nd round.

Massive up front. Their offensive line is enormous and quick, every one of them over 300 pounds. We looked like a peewee team out there. Pretty balanced attack. They are ballhawks on defense as well, with plenty of speed; it's not a team you can turn the ball over against (we lost three fumbles) and expect to stay in the game. You (as in Aledo, not so much us) can move the ball against them, but make sure to put an extra emphasis on ball protection.

They've nicknamed themselves "Goonville", so that's a nice little tidbit.

In short, definitely don't take them lightly.

Interested to see how NF matches up with Ennis.

Idk when they came up with Goonville but that makes since given who their head coach is. Randy Jackson threw a fit after Aledo beat Grapevine and Aledo scored again late with their 3rd string RB. He said it was BS that Aledo kept scoring. He is a sore loser. We scrimmaged them early this year and they were solid. Wouldnt mind knocking them out of the playoffs nonetheless. Like Lil Wayne says, "whats a goon to a goblin??"

Weird thing is, he's been friends with our head coach Darren Duke since they were in junior high together. And he coached with the Lions as well. But yeah, he lost his moral high ground about running up the score; he went for an onside kick up 37-6 on us, and kept throwing bombs to the end zone in the last two minutes trying to get a 50-point first half. They definitely seemed angry about us taking their playoff spot last year. Ultimately, though, it's our job to stop them, and we failed to do so. Except for the 50-point half thing.

Going to be an interesting week.

Playing devils advocate here so Marshall fans don't yell at me. I am not assuming a WH win, I am playing what if.

A Whitehouse win will give the top 3 teams a 2 game lead over everyone else and pretty much lock in the 1-3 seed. This would leave Marshall, Nac, Jax and MP fighting for the last spot. They will all 3 have H2H wins against the teams fighting for the 4 spot(I assuming TH beats everyone:)

A WH win would drop Marshall to 1-3-Marshall will have played the top 3+Jax. Leaving them with MP, Hallsville and Nac Left.

A Marshall win puts them at 2-2 with H2H over Jax, this comes into play in the event Jax beats Nac.

WH would have 1 loss with TH and PT left on the schedule. This would open things up for multiple teams to finish 3-3-Point differential would come into pay.

This Marshall/Whitehouse game is really going to give us an idea of how this district playoff race is going to go.

@Lobo07Do you have a 5AD1 R2 playoff projection yet?

https://www.6atexasfootball.com/forum/main-forum/team-threads/77-official-longview-lobo-thread-home-of-lobo-nation?p=561657#post561657

D5 #1. Denton Ryan vs D6 #4. Dallas Bryan Adams
D7 #3. Sherman vs D8 #2. Magnolia West
D5 #4. Frisco Wakeland vs D6 #1. Lancaster
D7 #2. Longview vs D8 #3. College Station

D5 #3. Frisco Reedy vs D6 #2. Dallas Woodrow Wilson
D7 #1. Highland Park vs D8 #4. Lufkin
D5 #2. Frisco Lone Star vs D6 #3. Dallas W.T. White
D7 #4. McKinney North vs D8 #1. Magnolia

The Magnolia/Magnolia West game is pretty big all around. A West win, and we could easily have a 3 way tie at 3-1 for 1 through 3 in 8-5A. One would end up traveling to Longview (most likely).

Brutal bracket. No easy path there!

Possible Longview road to a title: College Station, Lancaster, Denton Ryan, Highland Park, Colleyville Heritage, then Cedar Park.

Arguably tougher than what we would've had in 6A tbh.

Is what it is.

I think we can win the first two, but as I've said on the 6A board....it's Denton Ryan's title to lose.

I'll "accept" losing to Ryan if that means those playoff games actually happen.

At this point, just having a "playoffs" would be something of a victory.
