I think 15-5A is going to get the best of 16-5A  in softball.

But 16-5A looks loaded in baseball. 3 teams with 20+ wins. That’s impressive.

The thing about 16-5A baseball,  if Huntsville was in another 5A district they would probably have fared better.  I saw them play twice, they are a decent team. They beat Jacksonville 10-7 last night.

You know Whitehouse has beaten Nacogdoches 3 times in district, all close games. Lufkin beat WH 2 of 3. I still think Nacogdoches is the better team of the two when I've watched them both play in Lufkin.  Hard to figure baseball.  I mean WH only beat Tyler 2-1 on Tuesday???

To me, Whitehouse is the better team and this district is playing out the way you would think it would.

Whitehouse starts many sophomores and freshman, battled injuries, suspensions, and still in first. Coach Branch is doing something right over there.

They’re scrappy, fun, and play baseball the old school way.....the right way. When a team wins the championship of any baseball league they don’t say, “they only beat them 2-1.” They beat em, plain and simple. Baseball is about managing the ebbs and flows. Whitehouse has done that quite nicely up to this point.

Well, I can't disagree with you.  My only observance has been when Lufkin and WH or NAC have played during the season. Lufkin is also loaded with sophs and their JV has been phenomenal this year. I see a continued rivalry, at least through next season with all three programs from Lufkin, Nac, WH and even Huntsville. We will see where everyone lands after realignment.

Lufkin tops Nacogdoches tonight in a well played game, 1-0 in Nac.  Great pitching and defense by both teams. Lufkin finished 12-3 in district and are 24-6-1 on the season.

Lufkin girls softball lost 10-0 and 9-2 to Sulphur Spring in bi district play. Lufkin girls end their year at 12-13.

Lufkin got sandblasted 13-5 in the 1st game against Texas High in Lufkin.  Lufkin used 4 pitchers, giving up 13 runs on 16 hits and about 8 walks.

If there is any good news, Lufkin did not pitch any of their best three pitchers in Luna, DeJesus or Ditsworth tonight. Texas High is a great hitting team and knows how to play small ball to manufacture runs.  Lufkin scored all 5 runs in the 4th inning and had 6 hits on the night.  Lufkin is in a deep hole.

Pretty shocked by this.  Of course, one game doesn’t make a series... but now LP has to win two on the road. A little tougher but def not impossible.

Hallsville will be a heavy favorite Vs Huntsville... BUT.... the Bobcats stumbled at the end of the regular season losing to both Marshall and Sulphur Springs.

WH will be heavy favorites over Marshall.  Mav offense is spotty at times.  Pitching can be inconsistent.  When they are both clicking, they can play with anyone.  But they rarely seems to come together in a single game. Wildcats appear to be the class of ETX.

Long/Nac is appeared to be the most intriguing series to me (until last nights upset of LP).

Could be a fun weekend of baseball.

Hallsville lost to Longview as well the other night.

Bobcats have taken a massive downturn out of no where.

4x2 got a medal as well

Yep. Dekalon Taylor, who will be a key piece to Longview's offense this fall, ran a season best 10.49 in the 100m too but that was good for 5th place. Winner ran a 10.23.

Taylor was apart of the 4x1 (with Jalen Hale) and 4x2 as well.
