Please God let that happen.

A "conservative" born-again Christian hired by UT-Austin, from Liberty U?

Sure...  right after Harvard hires Donald Trump to run their business school.

“LSU officials notified the NCAA of its self-imposed sanctions earlier this month, sources said. The program will give up four scholarships in each of the next two years for a total of eight. Teams are normally allowed to have a maximum of 85 players on scholarship per year. The penalties will not impact the team’s ability to sign the maximum of 25 newcomers a year. Recruiting reductions include the elimination of 12.5% of official and unofficial visits, a 21-day reduction of the normal 168 days of allowable off-campus contacts and a six-week ban in communication with prospects.”

Can somebody explain how they lose 4 scholarships but can still sign 25?

I believe their punishment should be finishing their season with this current group of players...

The NCAA isn’t doing anything to a SEC power so I wouldn’t sweat it.

They had Oregon with recruiting violations and they only lost one scholarship a year for 3 years. The self sanctions are way tougher than the NCAA.

Well aware...We get a postseason ban in a couple of sports because our previous admin sucked at their jobs...

They are already at that pretty much. This isn't a problem for them. They already playing this season short handed because of the new 25 a year max rule. They would already be short handed for the next year or two because they lost so much over the season. This "penalty" is nothing to them. Its a way of hoping to cheat the system hoping the ncaa doesnt look harder and drop the hammer on them. (Like they would anyway)

Covid kept SFA from taking a big step forward this year.

I think it did more so they could take a whole leap next year. They get a full 10-game schedule with good competition. SLC will play a 6-game spring schedule followed by playoffs while SFA gets whole Spring to rest and practice.

SFA enters 2021 on normal schedule and year more experienced without losing eligibility. Other schools gotta turn around and play full schedule on short turnaround. SFA can do serious damage next year
