I understand the older generation more than most.  As my Momma used to tell me as a youngling if you're going to cry, "I'll give you something to cry about".  That's how I saw it with the old man that shouted it.  He was sick and tired of being harassed all the time, so he was going to give them something to really be angry about.  I know in the day and age of time outs, and no corporal punishment that some will not understand that fact.  He gave them something to really scream about, which in essence was counterproductive, but I can understand when someone is so fed up with someone that they resort to these types of behavior.  I can remember when my Mom would be so mad she would call me by another brothers name, but when the BOOM was coming, she used my full name.
