Let’s talk about masking up.

Why do some people want others to wear mask? Lots of reason.

fear, self-righteousness, legalism, pandering for approval are all reasons why people submit to the yoke of mask wearing. But we are free men why would we submit to a slavery of mask wearing tyranny? So we must stand firm and not submit to the tyranny that we have been giving through the shedding of blood of Freedom lovers. Remember that those who want to make a good showing in the flesh ( self-Righteouse, cowards, legalist, those seeking affirmation) are the ones who compel others to mask up.
I try to base my beliefs on truth, not feelings or wants, so I search the scripture for answers and have found ultimate freedom in Christ and base my post on Galatians 5:1 and Galatians 6:12.
Christ has liberated us into freedom. Therefore stand firm and don’t submit to the yoke of slavery...those who want to make a good showing in the flesh are the ones who could compel you to be circumcised, so not to be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
Sin restricts, holds us in bondage to the slavery of its tyranny and only through the shed blood of Christ can we have true freedom

I wear a mask because my 81 year old mother is extremely susceptible to anything like Covid, if I brought it into her house, and I would like to see her and be able to care for on a regular basis. Wherever you copied that nonsense from is wrong on so many levels and not really Christ like, in my opinion.

I wear a mask by Choice, because I  know whatever COVID is, it is real & it affects different people in different ways, depending on their age, race, overall health & weaknesses. As I have stated before, for the most part, it is little more than a nuisance for most folks, but it can be deadly in rare cases. I Will say, when I DO wear a mask, I wear it over my nose & mouth completely; idiots who seem to believe they are protected by the mere fact that it is Somewhere on their head, is pure Stupidity on their part.

Deadly in rare cases means give up individual freedoms. That ain’t right at all. If one wants to mask up, cool, but to mandate, force and to fine people who don’t is very much Bolshevik. I agree that thinking wearing a mask on your head, even over the mouth part of your head, provides nothing more than a placebo

I don’t wear a mask because my 30 year old neighbor who is self employed needs to work, and these mandates hurt his income and his family. Your 81 year old mother could die in a car wreck but you have not given up the freedom of driving your car. Your 81 year old mother could fall and hurt herself but we have no government mandates to make all people use a walker.  I could really care less what socialist think is Christ like.

We have laws that make driving cars safer, for your own sake and that of others. We have medical coverage to help prevent someone from falling, including walkers and wheelchairs and even scooters.Long term care and hospital stays are preventable, and their presence costs us all, due to the high expense, in taxes and higher premiums.

We have masks mandated now because people weren't taking care and wearing them voluntarily, and infection was spiraling upward, something that 'conservatives' are attacking the leading 'conservative in the state for, even though he has access to information you and I don't have, and because public safety for all is something every decent society should strive for, even if it means a 10 minutes sacrifice to wear a mask to go get beer in the Kwik E Mart. How does you wearing a mask affect your neighbor adversely?????

Jesus wasn't a capitalist, by the way, in my humble opinion.

The last few times I went to the supermarket, I've seen a few people wearing their masks over their mouths, but not their noses. It reminds me of that episode of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" where Will is in a school, and he gets scolded for wearing his necktie around his head. He pulls out the dress code and cites the rule, but then follows it up with "...but it doesn't say where."

It wasn’t spiraling upward because masks weren’t being worn.  It’s going up because they’re testing 500k more than they were.  Test more, more positive Tests.  Only makes sense.  You’re comparing the now know to the then unknown.  Who knows there may have been 200% more cases 3 months ago had they had tests to use.  You’re eating up the liberal news without thinking for yourself.  That is scary to know that people don’t think for themselves

Are you arguing that the greatest society in history was not founded on Christian values?

If you are talking about U.S. it was capitalistic values it was founded on. The founding Fathers were "business men" who wanted Independence so they could make more money .
