Carthage vs Kilgore

Coaching makes a difference. Kilgore hasn't blitzed on defense. Literally,  running right up the middle first two plays on offense. Kilgore has a CB that has completely locked down his side of the field, while the other side is getting torched with no over the top help. We'll see if they make any adjustments.

Could tell a big difference in Carthage’s offense when the 2 starters went out with injuries.  
May have an 8 game regular season if LCM doesn’t get back going soon from the hurricane.

Offense has some work to do, but looks like they have the personnel. Expect all the kinks will be worked out in a couple weeks.

Is 4 ok? What happened with him? He looked awesome.

Not sure. I didn’t want to say that, but that might be the case. 1st game of the season. So I wouldn’t take much from this game. Good luck to Kilgore the rest of the season.

Surratt didn’t say in his interview what was wrong with either one.  Just said he had to change things up without them.  
Big difference in a 225ish experienced blocker and a 180ish inexperienced blocker.

First game with no scrimmage, I thought the Dawgs looked pretty darn good.

The Dawg D shock the fire out of me, they are big and fast.

20, 51, 52, and 56 went through Kilgore O line like cheese through a shredder.

5, 6, Linebackers were flying to the football.

Secondary was making plays all over the field.

Offense looked great at times and rusty at times.

The Oline may be bigger than last year, my gosh how do they grow them boys that big.

The Dawgs have weapons every where but were a little rusty.

My biggest take was how hard they played with no scrimmages.

Kilgore is a good football and played hard all night, they will do very well this year.

Their defense is pretty darn good and they can tackle.

Great first game in my opinion.

Lets Go Dawgs!!!!!!!!

Carthage defense was definitely good. Kilgore offense was just vanilla, extremely predictable, however the silver lining with the QB being able to run and the TD pass was beautiful, the offense has potential. I think their defense played very well considering.

This is probably the most dominant stretch Carthage has ever had against Kilgore. 4-0 in the last 4 games, with Carthage out scoring Kilgore 174 - 61. I think I remember a stretch before Surratt where Vallery’s Kilgore teams were 10-1 against Carthage.
