Fblife13
TRUST ME, this will only make pewitt better, and stronger for when it counts. It looks ugly on the record but it is super beneficial to play bigger better teams,as long as the injuries dont happen. It has worked for daingerfield forever. Still hope you guys win though. We own them.....lol js.
d0tc0m
I don’t know how this game came about, but maybe Celina just wanted a good look at a power-run game like PP’s. Celina showed a ton of progress in the loss to Argyle. The defense was pretty banged up, and I don’t know the status of those guys yet. But a ton of sophomores and juniors got a ton of time against the best team in 4A Div. I. The Bobcats have speed on both sides and they are very, very physical, defensively, as Regal said. And the depth is surprisingly there for Celina. If the offense can take that next step forward like they did Friday night, the Bobcats will win pretty comfortably. d0tc0m
Not sure how healthy PP is, but Celina is a little banged up heading into this one. Nothing too bad, but we'll for sure be without our stud MLB, who dislocated his elbow at the start of the Argyle game. That forced some guys into other positions they weren't used to playing. We were also without our senior RB, Isaiah Martinez, our stud senior DE Army Ellison, and our super speedy FS, WR and return specialist Caden Knowles. I don't know the status of those guys coming into this game, but there's a chance none of them play. Fortunately, we have decent depth, and I was really impressed with the guys who came in against Argyle. Lots and lots of sophomores and juniors starting and/or getting significant playing time. d0tc0m
Some nostalgic (albeit Brahma-flavored) highlights from the last time these two met ... 15 years ago in a classic 2A Div. II state title game. Celina/PP highlights start around minute 49.

If MV stuffed the Brahma run game I’d think Celina will as well even with some starters out. Celina by 21+.

Celina by 21+. The Bobcats stifled Paris's run game, and bottled Argyle's rushing attack up fairly well, relatively speaking. I'm sure the Brahmas will grind out some tough yards, but the defensive front for the Bobcats is built to stop this type of attack, like you said, even with some starters out. Not sure who the Bobcats will have missing tomorrow night, but I'm sure a few starters will be out. Fortunately, Celina has some depth, and that depth looked like it could hold its own against Argyle last week.

However, we couldn't do anything that game against you guys. I went to college with the Celina QB Nathan Tune. He was in my accounting class and our yankee professor was talking about how we would lose to Alabama and our team was trash. Someone raised their hand and said, um the starting QB is in this class. The professor's face turned red and he was really embarrassed. Good luck PP!

Tune was a year younger than me. He was a good kid and a stud athlete. He was one of those kids who was just really good at every single thing he did. He probably should have been the starting QB my senior year 2004, but we had a good one in John Clark who'd started since he was a sophomore. John was a freak athlete with stupid speed that could have been better utilized all over the field. Been a long time ago lol!

Jessie Harrison was a beast. They just happened to run into an historically good Celina team. The 2005 Bobcats outscored their opponents 803-75 (a 50.2 - 4.7 ppg margin) that season — including 277-38 in the playoffs (46.2 - 6.3 ppg) — and it could have been a lot worse in most of the games. They posted seven shutouts, including four in a row to start the year, and they gave up double-digits just twice — once to Prosper and to Pewitt in the title game. They were held under 35 points just twice, also against Prosper and Pewitt. Apart from those two matchups, the starting defense was only scored on maybe a couple of times all year, and at least one of those was a field goal, which ended the shutout streak to open the season in week 5. That Celina team was stupid good.
