Score wise perhaps, but that Temple game was our own doing more than what Temple did..on offense for us at least.

We're not going to find a consistent passing game in the next three weeks. It's just about improving. Hale will have to be huge for us. Beltran will have to have a game like he did against Marshall. Hopkins needs to make the easy catches he dropped against West Brook.

You reached into my head and pulled it out, lol.  I think it gets ugly if we can't mount a decent game to get them off of the line...the deep post routes and roll out passes will only get us so far.  We have got to have a couple of wrinkles up our sleeve and that won't take a huge offensive scheme development.  I think we need to add 3-4 different options on the short game to at least keep them honest.

But then again, is King and company going to show any of that against two, far far far inferior teams like West and East?

Depends. You can run plays you want to see at game speed against another opponent. Yes they will have it on film but that just gives them more to prepare for. Then have a broader package for that game.

any good or smart coach will prepare to take away what you do best and live with the consequences. That makes it even more important to take advantage of all the opportunities durning the game.

Yes, I liked Hopkins going into the year...but its looking like another Kearbey situation.

If he cant get his hands in order...those sophomores can catch the ball.

I agree with this...I don't think we have to show some of the "catch you off guard" type of plays like backside screens and such, but should definitely work on the short slants and tight end curls...deep post, RB in the flat, TE post, and bubble screens will only go so far against a disciplined defense.  If HP has shown anything over the last couple of years, it is that the superior athletic, speed teams don't make a major difference

Looking forward to that HP game.

But even that one, I'm confident we can win it by multiple scores.

61-6 Final.

Oof.

Jeez. Even our mighty class of 05 Freshman team (lost 1 game each year) was only beating teams by narrow margins. Nacogdoches was a big win (like 35-0) but otherwise every game was within 1 possession.

They must have some absolute beasts. And I think the guys having the plays and such drilled into them at a younger age helps. When I was there Collins/King had only been around 1 year.

It's probably the more complete class King has had tbh. Not just talent wise but size wise too.

Dominant QB in Andrew Tutt.

Two dominant RBs with FBS potential in Taylor Tatum and Willie Nelson.

Dominant FB in Alijah "AJ" Johnson.

Dominant ATH in Budha Garrett who can play WR and Safety at a high level...FBS potential. Was very good RB in MS at Foster.

Great OL with big tackle Jacoby Watts out of Judson and C Tavion Morgan out of Forest Park.

Two great TE/DE's in Billy Smith (Forest Park) and Jaymerson Darensbourg (Judson). Darensbourg already 6'2 and Smith is a big one as well.

Andrew Pierce (Judson), Chase Smith (Foster) and Chris Head (Foster) all dominant specimans in the front 7.

3 very good CBs, 2 in which are already in that 6'0 range...DK Reese who is already 6'1.5 and Ethan Harrison who is 6'0. Both from Judson.

Just a great class.
