This one hurts so bad. JJW was my all time favorite. I couldn't tell you how many times we sat under the mulberry tree in my mom's backyard singing JJW songs. R.I.P. gypsy songman.

Losing Jerry Jeff hit me hard. There is no Texas Country scene without him. He’s The Godfather. He’ll always be a group of us high schoolers jamming out to “Sangria Wine” or “Mr.Bojangles” while running the backroads of Upshur County. I’ve teared up three times over a singer passing away. Tom Petty, Guy Clark and now, Jerry Jeff.

First Jerry Jeff cd I ever bought. $5 at Walmart. Friends dad would play the heck out of him. That got us hooked. We wore that sucker out.
