In 1941, Longview defeated Gladewater at Bear Stadium, 13-0. In 1947, Bobby Harris rushed in from 6 yards out in the first quarter before Jimmy Pakenham scored the game winning touchdown with a four yard score in the second quarter as the Lobos knocked off Gladewater, 13-7, in Bear Stadium. In 1952, despite leading just 20-7 at halftime, the Mavericks exploded for 38 unanswered points in the second half in route to a 58-7 win over the Lobos at Lobo Stadium. The loss remains the second largest loss at home for the Lobos. In 2004, before a crowd of over 27,000, Longview met arch rival Lufkin at Homer Bryce Stadium.
