Marshall controls their own destiny in the final three weeks Vs. MP, Hallsville, and Nacogdoches.

Win and they are in....no matter what anyone else does.

It starts with this game.  Gotta beat MP.

MP is coming off a forfeit win from Hallsville.

Marshall is coming off a hard-fought.... yet sloppy 30-22 loss to Whitehouse.

The Mavs haven't had a losing record this late in the season since 2013.  Their 7 year playoff streak is on the line.

It all starts with this one.......

I'll get all the historical stuff posted in a bit.  Wanted to get the thread started.

Must win for both . Kinda pulling for MP because of Nac chances.

Marshall can lose this game and take the 4th seed with a win over Nac the last week of the season. A Nac loss to texas High still set up the game the last week. MP can enter into the discussion if they win out and Marshall beats Nac to force a 3 way tie.

Wouldn’t it be nac if the playoffs ended today ? Not Marshall or nacogdoches? I thought we have sole possession of fourth right now.

Yes we currently have sole possession of 4th place. We are currently a game ahead of Marshall.

Actually if MP wins out they are in if Nac loses to both THigh and Marshall.  No tiebreak.

If MP wins out and Nac loses

MP would be 4-3, while Nac would be 3-4. Marshall would also be 3-4.

If MP wins out but Nac wins one of last 2. Nac goes on.

Nac actually controls their own destiny.

Im actually being hopeful of MP winning out. Highly unlikely but still possible.

I’m hopeful headed into this game.

The coaches made some changes on the offensive line after halftime Friday night and it seemed to help.

Hopefully that translates to more success the final three weeks of the season.

Maybe the change in alignment/faces is what we’ve been waiting for.  We were a completely different team in the second half than we were in the first half.

I have all the faith in the world in this defense.   Guys bring it week after week.  The offense betrays them with turnovers week after week.

These changes on offense might be what we’ve been needing.

We shall see.

Marshall leads the overall series Vs Mount Pleasant 13-4.   First meeting in 1954.

The Mavs have won 7 in a row.

Since dropping classification in 2002.... Marshall is (10-2) Vs MP.

Tiger wins came in 2002 and 2012.

MP offense can move the ball thru the air.   Marshall offense is hit and miss with a very weak offensive front line.  Marshall can't move the ball thru the air at all they can move ball on ground but are limited by offensive line.

MP defense is avg against the run/pass.

IMHO the scales tip to MP in this match-up by less than a touchdown score.
