I would say Pruitt is going to have to show some sort of success before a good program is going to take a chance on him, but South Carolina hired Muschamp after the Florida debacle.

My favorite example of a success SCRC graduate is Mike Locksley. Dude went 2-26 at New Mexico as HC. 3 years in the SCRC (OA, co-OC/WR, OC) got him the Maryland gig. Maryland is paying him $2.5m to go 5-11. Somebody will hire Jeremy Pruitt. It will be a step down in program like South Carolina was from Florida for Muschamp.

Current SEC head coach mentioned as potential candidate to replace Gus Malzahn at Auburn https://t.co/GRLoJYh58W https://t.co/qSxYBC0pye

I’ll be surprised if that happens. Lane has already been down the road of bailing after one season. It didn’t work out well. I think Auburn goes after Freeze with a plan on settling for Napier. Tennessee may pull the trigger on Pruitt a week earlier than they had planned to keep Auburn getting dibs on Freeze.
