VZCR Posted December 2, 2020 Share Posted December 2, 2020 Texas Hometown Football Jim Ned Indians The Jim Ned Indians was picked second in district behind Wall and returned 7 offensive and 4 defensive starters from a 7-4. The JV that did not lost a game in middle school or high school. The Indians lost their opening game to Ballinger by a score of 20-14. Over the next five games Jim Ned beat Eastland, Cisco, Hallettsville, and Wall. The Indians have not lost since week one. In the Brock game Jim Ned came out on fire. On Brock’s first play the Indians recovered a fumble on the Brock 20-yard line. Brock held and faced a third and eight at their own 4-yard line. Brock ran a draw, and the back was hit immediately in the endzone for a safety. Brock kicked off from the 20-yard line and Jim Ned returned the kick for a touchdown and an early 9-0 lead. The Indians mounted and long drive to go ahead 16-0 at the half. Brock roared back in the second half to tie the game at 16 all. Late in the fourth quarter Jim Ned faced a 4th and 6 at Brock’s 37-yard line. QB Tate Yardley hit WR Braden Lewis for a ten-yard gain. On the next play Yardley ran 22 yards to the five-yard line to set up the winning field goal. Total yards were in Brock’s favor 269 to 174; however, Jim Ned did not make a mistake. The Indians start 7 underclassmen on offense and 8 on defense. The offense is led by junior RB Xavier Wishert (6’ 1, 200), junior QB Tate Yardley (6’ 1, 175), senior WR Zack Henderson (6’ 1, 170), senor TE Austin Martin (6’ 2, 230) and junior WR Braden Lewis (5’10, 160). Defensively Jim Ned is led by Wishert (LB), Martin (DE), sophomore LB Tanner Hussman (6’0, 170) and sophomore DB Troy Doran (5’9, 150). 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
