The Pine Tree Pirates play host to the A&M Consolidated Tigers in a rematch from the 2019 Bi-District round.

This time the table's are turned as the Tigers have to travel the 170 mile treck to Longview.

Expect a good one here.

No poll to follow just thoughts and opinions from the forum !

This was a 14-14 game last year late in the 3rd before it fell apart for Pine Tree.  Turnovers were costly in that game.  I believe this year that the pendulum has swung towards Pine Tree and they have an excellent opportunity to win.  Consol is a very good team but not as strong as last year.

Pine Tree and Consolidated met in the Bi-District round last year as the Tigers had to force the Pirates into a couple of second half mistakes to pull away from a 14-14 tie to get the win in College Station.

This year the Pirates have earned the higher seed between the two and will bring their explosive offense coupled with an improved turnover forcing defense into the Bi-District round.

IF Pine Tree can control the LOS as the have in all of their wins this season then I believe they can use their homefield advantage to win & advance !

It would be the first time for Pine Tree win a playoff game since 1976 when they finished 10-2.

The Pirates have scored on Nine Explosive plays in the past three games and their defense holds a plus (+) 11 turnover ratio on the season as well.

Longview and Pine Tree both hosting playoff games ....you dont see that everyday. Longview, TX definitely the place to be Friday night.

Really interested to see if those boys out in West Longview can end that playoff win drought. They certainly have the talent to do it this year but A&M Consol is no slouch. Would be a very impressive win for PT if they can pull it off.

I have seen both teams play and with that said A&M Consolidated not as good as in the past but have a tradition and know how to win. Pine Tree on the other hand will have more talent and will be quicker, but are new to the playoffs and winning the big games. Pine Tree has the kids to win, but tradition will win out and Consolidated will get the win in a close one.

Pine Tree will need to play a mistake free game to stay in the playoffs.

Pine Tree Defense will have to make at least  5 or 6 defensive stops of AMC offense to win.

Probably a good thing that the Pirates have had a grand total of 6 offensive turnovers all season...meanwhile the PT Defense has forced 17 turnovers.

As I wrote earlier on the thread, the Pirates are a (+11) TO Ratio thus far this season.

It's been one of those factors that have driven a successful season for Pine Tree and could very well forge another win as the Pirates simply do not beat themselves.

Another thing to consider is that Consolidated has suffered both of their losses on the road while the Pirates are undefeated at home.

I believe those two trends continue with this matchup !

Pine Tree has the players to pull it off. Hoping Freeman is fully healthy

Freeman "appears" to be fully healthy as evidenced by his "results" over the past three games...since he went down before halftime at Texas High.

He's the "straw that stirs the drink" for the Pine Tree offense and how he goes...so go the Pirate Offense !
