Bucksweep
Playing out exactly as I thought. Canyon nowhere as good as Paris/LaVega. 28-0 Argyle early 2nd
Crapola
Yup. With big boys like Carthage and Gilmer safely in another division. Argyle can run the board for a couple years.
regaleagle
Argyle went up 37-0 with 8 min. left in the 3rd. They pretty much unloaded the bench for the rest of the game. Canyon scored 20 pts. while Argyle was running it every play and killing clock. Punted on 4th and one on Canyon's 49. To be fair, their starting QB #16 showed up in jeans.......guess he got injured last week against Springtown or in practice......one or the other. #19 was a good looking soph QB about the same size........he did OK but just lacked seasoning. Wouldn't have mattered anyway.......Argyle scored on the 2nd play from scrimmage and again the very first play the next time they had the ball. The Argyle offense was beating their starting D badly.......even Byce at RB. But good season for the Canyon Eagles.......they won 12 games and made it all the way to the semifinals before running into a team they couldn't matchup with. They have improved each season for the last 3 seasons and should feel they accomplished much this season. It's just very difficult to advance at this level. regaleagle
BTW......Congrats to my Eagles for advancing to the State Championship game in 4A-Division 1. It was not an easy road to get to this point......but they met their goal so far. Now they have one more goal left.......so good luck and go win another SC Title in football. Argyle V Lindale for State Championship Lindale losses include Gilmer and Midlothian Heritage. MH played Paris twice, lost twice. Argyle handled Paris twice. State is Argyle’s to lose imo
regaleagle
Anything can happen in a SC title game.......I've seen it happen with my own eyes. Lindale is legit and has some quality players. Their RB is a load and very talented......he's the Real Deal, for certain. It will be Eagles vs Eagles again. The last time Argyle met some Eagles at Jerryworld......Argyle won.
regaleagle
Looks like Coach Rodgers and his coaching staff will be very busy starting tomorrow figuring out the best way to slow down Baylor commit RB Jordan Jenkins. Then they will have to give the D an in-depth course all week on how to keep this talented back at bay. Basically.......stop or slow down Jenkins and let your offense do its thing. You won't keep Jenkins from scoring........but Argyle's defense will be in for a big test to keep him from scoring as many times as the Argyle offense is able to score.
