The Inside Texas have said it’s Sark and they have a post up about his potential staff hires.

They were the only ones that were right about the coaching change and they had Sark and Kelly as the tier 2 candidates after Urban.

Gotcha, thanks.  👍

Well you’d be wrong because plenty of people that get paid to watch and talk about college football are saying it’s a good hire.

He’s got 8-9 years worth of work as a HC to show his capabilities.  He’s a .600 coach.  And an alcoholic.  That’s always there.

I forgot, your opinion is fact. My bad.

I don’t think he does, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

I'm not saying that but be realistic... Nick saban could follow sark to be is DC at Texas too but we aren't going to say that...

Young was a few practices away from being the starter for Bama this year as a freshman. He has almost zero competition for the bama starting gig next year and will be playing with more weapons and a much better oline than he would transferring to Texas.

I mean yes it could happen I guess but come on... If I said "I don't think bryce young is going to texas" would that make you feel better?

Thats where YOU are wrong. Those guys get paid for views. They will say whatever they are told to say that draws ratings. Believe it or not I actually met one of these "experts" once at the casino in shreveport and he said as much.

The catch phase now is ( whatever moves the needle ) is what they will say. Does not have to be right or wrong or true or false. Just move the needle.

Analysts are not reporters.  There’s a difference.  I figured you guys knew that from politics

Only reason I bring it up is because Sark recruited him and he’s followed Sark since his connection to USC.

Just for information sake why do you think Campbell and Franklin are better.  I saw where you said throw some money at freeze who I also like as a play caller btw but what makes those names better than sark.  Wouldn't freeze be on the same level as far as records and baggage? Just curious what would give the other names an edge.

Franklin has done nothing but win... At VANDERBILT and JAILBIRD PENN STATE...

Sounds like Sark will call the plays.  Let's see who who the DC will be.

seriously though, the talent is there... calling the plays isn't the issue.  The issue has been implementing an offense that doesn't revolve completely around 1 player.

Sam was great.  But he was limited bc everyone KNEW he was it.  Texas barely tried to use anyone else.  Look at the bowl game.  Robinson was dominant...  Most people didn't know who he was until after that bowl game.

Will be fired in 3 years tops, rinse and repeat.

Herman needed to go and I know UT has a massive buyout to pay.....but this is really the best that the University of Texas could do? Damn.

They literally just hired an even worse coach.

Did nothing at Washington, got let go at USC, got let go at Atlanta when he was OC there, and anybody looks good being a coordinator for Saban.

Hope this happens.  Lupoi may be the #1 "bagman" of all time and playing the game.  Cries of "Uncle Red" during the Strong years will be child's play compared to what Lupoi would do making the rounds in Houston/DFW.

Additionally, multiple sources told FootballScoop that a reunion of Sarkisian with defensive line specialist and recruiting guru Tosh Lupoi, who’s spent the past few seasons in the NFL, also has been discussed.

Let's face it, when you start with Urban Meyer, who is going to be the guy that is a big hire? I would have been happy with Matt Campbell. I thought I would have been happy with James Franklin weeks ago until I did a little research on him. He seems to be just like Herman with a record of 60-28 and one conference championship in his seven years with Penn State. I think the big question now is who joins Sarkisian's staff? Some early names being thrown around, but there's too many rumors out there to even post the names.

I suspect there is some pretty bad blood between Herman and the bosses at Texas after they went after Urban Meyer while Herman was still the HC. I dont blame Texas for moving on but give me one reason why I should think Sarkisian will be an upgrade? He was basically a 7-5 coach at Washington. He was basically a 7-5 coach at USC. No reason to think it will be any different this time.
