And get ready to be increasingly told that you're somehow bad for being white (and possibly male and Christian), that you must undergo "critical race theory" training, and oh, watch the country move left. And that if you're Conservative or believe in Capitalist principles, you're somehow a horrible person whose selfish.

Wait til the annual stimulus infrastructure is implemented.  It’ll be welfare on steroids.  Let’s not try to get people to work, let’s encourage them to stay at hone.  These democrats are going to ruin our country, and they’re so oblivious to how these plans fail on other countries.

Poor, poor, pitiful 'conservatives' who are white males, you have had it so tough compared to all other groups, so you should gnash your teeth and tear your clothes! In my lifetime, the good years economically have come under Democratic Presidents in Clinton, Obama and soon Biden, and there has also been much more concern for our place in the world as a leader, economic fairness, and taking care of the least among us. Gone will be the worst Education Department head ever in Cruella DeVos, and imagine having people in charge of the EPA and Interior who actually care about the environment and the quality of air and water and our public lands. In charge will be people who believe in science to approach COVID and actually there will be people who believe in governing effectively. See you Kushner, Moscow Mitch being in charge, Stephen Miller's racism. We won't miss you!

It's not just conservative white males, Barry. I'm not sure you understand that. See my post above about the ridiculous rules the House just passed.

Define "economic fairness" for me, Barry. Everyone makes the same amount of money? That would be "economically fair", wouldn't it? Why not just confiscate everyone's wealth, and evenly distribute it among everyone? So everyone makes the exact same amount of money, regardless of job? That would be fair, right?

How "big" should the government be to you, Barry?

Equal opportunity for employment on qualifications, appropriate minimum salaries and benefits, and taxation that isn't regressive. Don't fly off the handle on the whole 'socialism' tangent, please.

Big enough to help our country face its problems effectively. HINT: I am for a health care system and public education system that is accessible and appropriate for all. And, I believe that the COVID issue has been bungled and punted to the states with little to no federal leadership.

Ever heard of the EEOC? Name a job I can get, that a minority can't, if we had the same skill set.

How do you feel about the H1B system? What has Biden (or any other Republican or Democrat, for that matter) said or done to reform the H1B system? Believe it or not, that affects white collar jobs. Would you like to be in a position where your district brings in an H1B hire, and tells YOU, "Barry, you must train this person who is going to replace you, or you don't get a severance"? What do you do then? What's Biden's plan there?

Define "appropriate minimum salaries and benefits". Support your answer.

Define "accessible and appropriate for all". Support your answer.

You're a teacher. You should be able to handle that. Right?

I'm not against appropriate taxation. I'm against confiscatory taxation, and using taxation as a "punishment" or as a "class warfare" tool or a political tool, where people proposing these things (i.e. a "wealth tax") either don't know what they're talking about, or are just throwing red meat to their followers.

I make in the low six figures. I don't say that to brag, but to ask a question. What, in your mind,  should my tax rate be? There's three of us in my household, and I'm the sole earner. So let me know.

That would require a thought process which is well above Barry’s pay grade! All he can do is regurgitate Dem talking points

Back to work, so pardon me if I don't have the time just now to answer your diatribe. Will give it a shot later.

Read up on Biden's plans here: https://qz.com/india/1946258/h-1b-workers-hope-biden-is-more-pro-immigration-than-trump/  I am an educator in Texas, so I have to fulfill my contract time to get my for the contract year. There is no severance extra given, unless I was a superintendent, which I am not.

Define "appropriate minimum salaries and benefits". Support your answer. Living wage, safe working conditions, paid FMLA like most countries in the world. Many states have taken action for minimum wage raises, as the federal government has refused for many years.

Define "accessible and appropriate for all". Support your answer. Real health insurance and access to care that won't bankrupt or prohibit the use of for all.

You're a teacher. You should be able to handle that. Right? Absolutely, I can handle ANYTHING. I work in a public school. I have two degrees and multiple certifications. I have been doing this for over 30 years.

Lots of hostility and sarcasm this morning and wounded feelings, maybe? See above.

Wounded feelings? Not really, no. I halfway expected it. But to your responses:

1. You didn't really answer this. I've never met a minority who didn't have a similar skillset to me who couldn't get the same job. In fact, in Tech, I've worked with severalTry to answer the question.

2. I'm pro legal immigration. What I'm not in favor of, though, is intentionally replacing American workers (in Tech, for instance) with H1B, and having the American worker train their H1B counterpart under threat of withholding a severance. The whole "there's not enough American talent" thing is BS, too. I know that for a fact. But I think you misunderstood my example.

3. "Living Wage" is what, exactly? Give me a dollar amount.

4. Let me ask you a few questions here, then: Why do you think health insurance rates are so high? When you take your car to get an oil change, or a new tire, or some other type of maintenance done on it, do you file that with your car insurance? Why or why not? You see where I'm going with this?

I've been a self-taught programmer for over two decades. So yeah, I can handle things, too.

Look, Lucille, I have never posted an article on here and to my knowledge have never read anything Lin Wood wrote. You try to respond to every post with Dem posting points but will never answer a direct question

This is an interesting topic. Uncle Joe isn't even in the White House yet, and I have noticed that gas prices in my area have jumped .50 cents already--we were around $1.45-1.55 in November, but we are already up to $2.00 a gallon here in Northeast Texas. It now takes $10 dollars more to fill up my largest vehicle. I just can't wait for those $4.00 prices again.

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=EMM_EPMR_PTE_NUS_DPG&f=W

National Average on 11/2/2020 was 2.11 a gallon

National Average on 1/2/2021 was 2.24 a gallon. That is a huge jump in an average--

So what else awaits us in the next couple of years?

https://www.gobankingrates.com/money/economy/joe-biden-tackle-money-issues/#2?utm_campaign=1032241&utm_source=msn.com&utm_content=30

Love the following programs he has endorsed.

Student Loan Debt

Biden supports addressing the student debt problem by expanding or supporting existing programs, such as the Obama administration’s income-driven repayment initiative and those that forgive student loan debt if the borrower takes part in certain forms of public service. He has expressed support for some loan forgiveness for low-income borrowers.

People who borrow money SHOULD HAVE TO REPAY IT....PERIOD!!!!!

Climate Change

Biden has proposed a $2 trillion investment in his first term — along with research into advanced models for nuclear energy — with a goal of reaching 100% clean energy generation by 2035.

Where does that $2 Trillion come from? But I do support Nuclear energy--I have since the 1980s--but where does the money come from?

Drug Prices

Biden supports the bill passed by the House of Representatives last year that would allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices in the same way private insurers do.

I have to wonder--why has it taken 60 years of Medicare to get something like this PASSED!!!!!--I mean, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, Obama, Trump--all missed the target on this one. I guess it is true, that if it's NOT your money--you don't give a poop.

Affordable Care Act

Biden has been a vocal proponent of the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, and is proposing an influx of $750 billion in new spending over the next decade to strengthen the law, financed by raising taxes on the wealthy.

Why are we going to waste another trillion dollars on something that DOES NOT WORK? Again, where does all this money come from? You can only tax people so much--for something like this to work--you can't just add 2.5% to the wealthiest--it has to come on down to those of us who actually work for a living. I will NEVER support a government run healthcare program--because governments DO NOT KNOW HOW to run a business or program--just look at every government throughout history.
